I guess vibe coding ought to be OK to quickly spit out a dashboard, a report app, a project tracker as well as other low stakes quick and dirty projects. Before vibe coding arrived building an app to do stuff like that was too expensive so people had to make do with spreadsheets and to-do lists which can be worse than most vibe coded apps.
Is there a piece of software that you need but doesn't exist and is not too sensitive to defects? Vibe code it. It might fail a company's quality test but it should meet every deadline.
Is vibe coded software as good as handcrafted, bespoke code? No. But it's immediate and much cheaper, vibe coding can bring to life software that otherwise would never see the light of day.
Just remember to manage your expectations well, don't fall for the hype and prepare to be disappointed when asking for too much.
"0 hours" has the highest score so far. Great!
AGI will never arrive. Of course some of the major ai jokers will talk about it and even assert they have achieved it, but it will never really arrive.
Reminds me of those "earth like planet" that are "just a few hundred light years away" (and some stupid clowns already making plans to move there).
To me someone saying they are vibe-coding just means they are clueless and easily remote controllable.
When they say that AGI is 18 just months away what they really mean is "AGI will always be 18 months away."
That is like our weather service here: it will always be sunny seven days from now.
If you add the percentages of the people who vibe code, one or more days per week, you get a respectable 1 in 3 people (5%+5%+26%=36%) . I call that a significant adoption.
Yes. I call it sad.
Vibe coding today works well to build additional marginal features, addons, plugins etc to existing hand coded frameworks. But this tech is still in it's infancy. Give it 6 to 12 months and it may become formidable.
What do you expect from it? I mean Opus 4.6 is way smarter then average Junior, especially setup in multi-agentic env. where is that "holy shit, that's good!" point for you? Does AI have to pound your wife or something?
The tool is good as the person who wields it. The same with penis, the same with sword.

Anyone tried gemini 3.1 pro and Claude 4.6 for vibe coding? What gave you better results?
I can say that gemini is really good. I couldnt have done better coding and i am a veteran coder. Its only you need to have the right setup to fit generative ai in your development cycle. I use it for code snippets and troubleshooting. Not complete app writing.
opus 4.6
AGI means AI that does well at a variety of tasks instead of just one single task. ChatGPT achieved that. ChatGPT is already AGI. Hell, GPT-2 was AGI. But AGI isn't actually what anyone wanted, it seems.
The better the prompts, the better the results. 3.1 pro is pretty goodb but I haven't tried Claude since a while.
How good is it? For what are you using it for?
I see. So they hide behind funny definition games.
I do not use vibe coding or "AI" at all.

Fuzzy definitions huh, that's a clever trick, it sure cuts them some slack.
Of course, moving the goalposts is even more powerful and they play that game very well too but it's not as clever as (ab)using definitions. Not as soft and much less polite.
Sir, its not called "Vibe Coding".
Its called Agentic Coding.
Ai is a just tool, it can only be as good as the person using it. I've seen financial applications not using proper transactions in postgresql but on some ai assisted github project, because the dev knew about it and made sure the ai also uses it properly.
