We are looking for protect the legitimate users, unlike other providers that will suddenly impose a KYC and lock accounts we are looking to do it in a fair, calm and controlled manner.

If someone does not wish to renew, they have that option since most customers are pay monthly by the time we have started to implement this renewals will be due or passed and this has already been advised.

Just to clear up a misunderstanding — the email is a heads-up, not a blanket demand.

The wording says “if identity verification is required” on purpose. It doesn’t mean everyone is being asked to verify, and there’s no action required just from receiving the email.

Verification is only applied selectively where it’s needed for platform security and abuse prevention, and people are contacted individually if it applies to their account.

If you have a specific issue I invite you to raise a ticket from your account and we can discuss any issues as we do with all customers on a per account basis

    Only 10 days, huh?
    Edit:
I have to emphasize, @xHosts made that statement 4 days ago

Seems unfair to target the tiny number of people who have bought lifetime.

Targeting owner of lifetime deals is one thing (ensuring account integrity). But, this seems like waves and eventual request to KYC all of their customer.

KYCing yearly/lifetime users = profit, KYCing monthly users = loss (of future revenue), assuming most users would decline.

  • They will do this to lifetime plans first.
Because lifetime plans don't offer any return, and StackCP is constantly increasing its prices.
In this situation, the provider will gradually close accounts one by one, using this as an excuse.
That's my opinion. StackCP usually sends a notification and suspends a very large number of accounts. The provider can contact the user and request this. But if this happens to everyone, it's certain that it will be as I said.
The first eliminations will be for lifetime plans, and this number will decrease.
What happens after that is unknown.
    That's my opinion.

  • What are you hosting on StackCP, if I may ask?

  • @memok said: In this situation, the provider will gradually close accounts one by one, using this as an excuse.

I mean it is possible. However, I am not sure why a provider would be selling these accounts in the first place? Marketing? Hmm, it does not look very good if a provider kicks out people like this.

The issue with cheap/lifetime accounts is they are abused because they are cheap. So, one way to deal with is to do KYC, another way is to increase the price. I think xHosts mentioned that they have been selling these lifetime accounts for a while with no issue, so I wonder why suddenly they are having issues.

  • Cool, another provider to add to my list of do not touch, ever.
