  • Ten days and counting, but at this point, I assume any news will be bad news.

  • my vps is working but lost all the data on it.

the ssh key fingerprint changed when I tried to login for the second time.

Interesting. They replied to my ticket a week ago saying they were going to move to VirtFusion. Nothing seems to have happened since then. The panel looks the same to me and still can't connect to the host.

Still down. This might be my longest downtime ever. What a trash hosting provider.

Actually, when I first got my VPS about 2-3 years ago, their template for Debian didn't work. I tired Ubuntu - that worked, Alpine - that worked, Debian - didn't work. Tried to go back to Ubuntu (which I didn't want but it's close enough) and I wasn't allowed another install because of some quota. Raised a ticket and they said they'd e-mail when their Debian template was fixed. They never did (or I missed it), and I just forgot about the VPS and so it was actually switched off in the control panel for the first 9-10 months without a bootable OS image. I only remembered about it when I tried to create an account for some other deal, and discovered I already had an account and an active service that had never been used.

EDIT: just to be clear, that's mostly my own fault for forgetting it. I think they had reset the install limit counter, I just wanted to want for the Debian template to be fixed rather than using Ubuntu.

  • @ralf said: my own fault

Bro, it does not matter. Let's see how many more weeks/months we will wait for this trash company to recover access to our VPS.

They should just shutdown vpses all together if they can't even manage to get it working. I have one of their BF deals from 3 yrs ago that no longer works now after Virtualizor issue. I also have the Ryzen BF deal and that never worked from day 1.

When I had their dedicated server, it was great. Their CEO Maximilian replied to my ticket and fixed my server in a timely manner when I sent in a ticket with problems using the old HP IPMI.

Why? Profit can still be made by some forgotten services that generate invoices.

  • imo their vps was never good due to shitty IO.

    network is nice though.

I think Maximilian is no longer with HostSlick unfortunately. That guy was cool.

    isnt he the owner

  • He is, or was? I haven't seen his name on ticket response in long time so I assume he moved on or sold? Or just running the business from background. No idea. But I liked Max more than this dude Alexander who is currently replying tickets. Or does not reply.;b

According to what @HostSlick posted here on LET he hired someone to handle the tickets so he (Maximilian) can move to bigger stuff and not waste most of the day on tickets.
So I would assume Alexander is the guy and a) he is new; b) he is overwhelmed c) he is not owner so he is limited in things he can promise/do

My last answer by Maximilian was Monday, January 12th, 2026 (09:55) about a VPS that should be offline, but it is online. Month later it is still online, but as they have bigger shit to do now I am gonna re-bump that ticket in a month and/or wait for that VirtFusion migration
Fun fact: Most likely because that VPS is gone from Virtualizor/WHMCS (but still online :D) it was never "hacked" LOL

  • @JustAUser said: My 2021 VPS out of a sudden disappeared from Virtualizor, but still marked as active in WHMCS and it's completely unreachable. Seems like they take quite some time to answer tickets too now, been waiting for ~24 hours already, no reply. I'm not searching for premium support, I'm totally fine with waiting for couple hours for normal response, but something else must be going on with them.

    Anyone had similar issue recently?

    Identical issue
The VPS has been removed from Virtualizor but is still marked as active in WHMCS. It is unreachable, although the IPv4 is pingable while the IPv6 is not.

At some point, Max will most likely show up with some excuse about real life, health, or something... say that he's sorry, and then continue as if nothing happened.

  • This is unbelievable. It’s been 16 days and I still don't have access to my VPS...

  • hostslick needs to be nuked from orbit

    We sincerely apologize
Support response times are currently delayed due to the high ticket volume related to this incident. We are processing all tickets and will credit affected customers for the full downtime period once services are fully restored.

    Just normal for them.

I once was a customer many years ago, it was a combination of shit-show, clusterfuck, and sheer "don't care" with a dressing of promises and nice words.

    Just stay away

How can it be delayed when everyone has been receiving the same "I have escalated this to the technical department to look further into this issue" canned message for the past two weeks?
How long does it take to copy and paste that response and then leave clients waiting? How hard is it to actually explain to clients what's going on and what they should expect?

    HostSlop,

You believe this can be solved before the ship sinks? Will the captain go down with the ship?

Congratulations on your first LET post.

It's the third week of the outage, and still no one knows what's going on?

They "are working really hard on everything"

I got a refund (which I didn't want, I wanted my service back):

I'm now left with $7.66 of credit balance at hostslick which is impossible to use as the cheapest thing they offer is $88.15/m for some overpriced 16GB dedi.

can't you pull those $7.66 to your previous payment method?
feels like it's not even legal if you can't move the money anywhere

Oh man, I just realised this is even more of a farce than I thought!

I paid the $7.66 after I was sent an invoice, and it was this one that was refunded to me.

Almost 2 weeks later, another payment was taken automatically by their system, but because I'd already paid my invoice this seems to have ended up as credit balance.

They then refunded me the first payment because that's associated with the VPS, but not the second because that isn't (I'm guessing).

I just noticed that my ticket has been updated to say they've recreated my VPS and the ticket was closed, and yet the panel shows it as still cancelled.
