Virtualizor or Proxmox ?

CristianDCristianD Member, Host Rep

Hello Guys, we have big strange problem :)

We have proxmox cluster with 3 servers on it, and another 3 cluster servers but on virtualizor.

On the Proxmox on each node we have around 120-140 VMs Small and Big VMs. (2-8cpus,4-8gb ram)

On Virtualizor on each node we have 50-55 small vms (1-2cpus, 2gb ram...)

The load on virtualizor servers 20-23, on proxmox 40-50, all the servers from cluster ar the same spec same CPU same SSD/NVMe same Ram...etc complet copy cuz the 3 servers from virtualizor was on the same cluster with proxmox but we whanted to change.

What we sow since we use Virtualizor, the network and speed of Virtualizor servers is bad verry bad.

We ping the gateway (switch/router) from virtualizor servers spikes from 0.2 to 300ms, from proxmox complet 0 spikes 0.2-0.3 ms , same range same network same switch 10GB network.

What we founded till now, virtualizor is not optimized for heave servers with lots of vms is more like for kids, 30-40 vms?!

Just to let you know we dont use small servers we use only big servers minimum 56cores and 256ddr4/5 .

Is Virtualizor for big servers lots of vms ? Or is for kids ?

Thank you

I have no issues what’s so ever with Virtualizor and i’m using them for a long time (there is some occasional problems, but they were some time ago, recently everything runs like a dream).

Not that promox is perfect, at least one of the dev is mentally deranged.
However, its doing a good job so far.

Speaking about Virtualizor, idk, I mean if you wanna suffer yes.

  • Can’t I just LLM?

  • Try Virtfusion. its the way to go today.

I like Proxmox; it feels more enterprise-grade. I've seen it used in many large companies across various industries outside of hosting. In fact, many people in LATAM are migrating from VMware to Proxmox due to the high cost of license renewals

We was using proxmox for 10 years but decided to move to virtualizor because of hes templates and automatization with whmcs, but i think we will regrate it

From 10 to 100, really varries on the node.
Some are 192GB RAM, other are 512GB.

@CristianD For Proxmox you always got TurnKey LXCs that are direct from the Proxmox GUI.

It is integrated into Proxmox: Use the GUI to go to a Storage that can contain CT Templates and press the Templates button. Select your template and press download.
