GrapheneOS looking for hosting sponsors

Hi guys, I was scrolling X and saw that GrapheneOS is looking for 10gbps dedicated servers in EU. They are looking for providers who could sponsor. Is any of the providers here a candidate to sponsor them?

I think they're set, multiple companies offered to give free service already, including Mullvad.

We can afford infrastructure but we prefer to not pay for it, therefore we would like free servers.

Not quite sure if this is a place for plebs, free is less than 7$/yr.

Very very true, however they could also advertise their developers profiles/companies in return for free work.

Concerned if all those "Ubuntu ISOs" where always an euphemism.

I like the GrapheneOS project, but I definitely cannot afford to give away 10Gbps bandwidth in Asia!! Maybe he should ask OVH... hell abuse cheap ass Contabo or Leaseweb VPS that apparently give Asia 30TB for a few dollars 🤣

Seriously though I'd not sponsor anyone probably. It doesn't feel right when normal clients pay. I just donate to projects I like, mostly open source stuff or stuff unrelated to software/hosting.

Free servers in Europe are quite hard to get, at least in the current economic crisis of EU.

I could maybe look at something UK

  • What happened to all those file mirroring services? I am assuming it's mainly about just hosting their files - have they contacted some of them? Why does it need to be a dedicated server?

rusophile propaganda detected. You should get a short term ban for attempting to derail threads with your fetishes.

Anti-EU sentiment != pro-Russia propaganda. Chill and keep this in the Russia v Ukraine thread.

Sure, in some cases it can be just that, but not in this case.

I use LineageOS with MicroG, and it's fine. I haven't used GrapheneOS, though, so can't really compare them.

  • @JosephF said: How does LineageOS compare to GrapheneOS?

In terms of security, GrapheneOS is on a different level. Do you need that extra hardening? Unlikely, default Android is really good if you follow best practices e.g. download only from the Play Store (as GrapheneOS recommends).

For people who don't know if they need GrapheneOS, I totally recommend LineageOS - you have to give up a lot of nice stuff for GrapheneOS and random things will break.

I'd recommend it in any police state (Celebrite, anyone?).

    Hi.

We can sponsor GrapheneOS and other project like this one or relevant.
However, we just need the requirements and some details of the project.

If anyone have direct contact with someone of GrapheneOS, we can help and provide a server. Just DM us or directly open a ticket support and we will help and provide something.

    Best Regards,
    Alexhost
