Looking for a Dedicated Server (8–12 cores, 2 NVMe drives) for Proxmox — US, Lowest Cost Possible
Hi all,
I’m looking to rent a dedicated server in the United States to run Proxmox VE as a hypervisor. This is for a small hosted QuickBooks Desktop environment (starting with one customer and a few employees), so I’m trying to keep the monthly cost as low as possible while still having reliable storage performance.
Required / Preferred Specs
- CPU: 8–12 cores (modern/reasonably recent)
- RAM: 64 GB preferred (or upgradeable to 64 GB)
- Storage: 2× NVMe SSDs (plan is to mirror via ZFS for redundancy)
- Network: 1 Gbps is fine (10 Gbps optional, not required)
- Location: Anywhere in the US
Use Case
- Proxmox host with a few small Windows VMs (AD + QuickBooks host + backups)
- Disk I/O and uptime matter more than raw CPU performance
What I’m Optimizing For
- Lowest possible monthly cost (while still being stable/reputable)
- True dedicated NVMe (no weird shared-storage surprises)
- Clear bandwidth terms, clear billing (no hidden gotchas)
- No VPS — looking for bare metal only

Do you have anything in between, the 7950x3d would be overkill we do not need any 3d processing whatsoever. I like the cores & speed, but the x3d is overkill, and would be out of range cost wise.
