Blesta VS ClientExec Vs (any other)
Hi LET community,
Just looking for opinions from people using Blesta / ClientExec / Or something else for managing VPS (using Virtfusion / Virtualizor)
Between Blesta and ClientExec, which one checks all your boxed?
Our use case is Different. We do offer custom VPS or Manged Shared Hosting (cP/DA), but our main requirement is for proper Billing and Support portal. Nice to have options for user to check their VPS / Hosting stats and access etc. But it's less important.
We are currently using WHMCS but considering move off of it.
I have recently tested Blesta but wasn't impressed with their Admin GUI as well as their setup for Support (Support Department). The GUI is really bad (for admin as well as client)
ClientExec seems slightly polished.
But both of them seems to have very limited dev resources. (Discord is not much active either)
Seems like one man show (in both cases) or at least not their "primary focus".

Comments
They're both actively developed and valid solutions.
Blesta is completely open-source too, which gives more freedom in case you wanna customize some specific stuff.
Regardless they're both good, just make sure they have the modules you're interested in.
what's the strong reason you move away from WHMCS?
I guess pricing. And they keep increasing every year.
WHMCs have been the standard and quite stable for years, Blesta gives you the option to edit the core which is great.
We have been using both for quite some time now, blesta for about 4 years and whmcs since 2012, in my perspective both are not suited for Enterprise grade and lack functionality - logic in the core that if you have to develop it is better to den your own internal system for billing both are quite good.
I never used client exec, and we already started the migration to our internal system .
Check out Hostbill, it's a good choice
If you don’t afford a license then you should close the activity.
It's pure rent-seeking.
Blesta, if you know how to code.
You can modify things, build your own modules/automations easy.
I use ClientExec as it suits my use case very well. I used Blesta but didn't really like the UI at the time I used it. Grabbed a $175 lifetime owned unbranded license of clientexec on a sale with lifetime updates. One of my best purchases ever as I still use it now.
You can get a free Blesta license with NameCrane and a free ClientExec with Racknerd. Better path for you, $10 bucks will get you a license for a year check each of those out properly before moving. I like clientexec a bit more blesta feels like its a product from the 90s
The same you can do with Clientexec, very easy to develop modules
But your website is using Blesta? Is this supposed to be an internal system?
Hostbill is a great system, their support is also amazing, quite often go above and beyond.
As stated in my comment migration ain't complete yet .
Just checked their site.
" What if you change the list of modules included in my edition?
If any new module/integration was released and added to your edition after you made a purchase, it will not be automatically added to your license. Any newly released modules must be purchased separately. This also concerns the All-inclusive license."
Even on the highest package, new modules that comes to the plan in future are not included. That doesn't feel so good.
We use Clientexec the last seven years and we are fine with it.
+1 for Clientexec -- v7 beta was just released 2 days ago as well, which is a big overhaul
https://www.clientexec.com/blog/2026/02/07/clientexec-7-0-beta-1-release/
Most modules are only $99 anyway which is no real cost anyway.
You only buy what you need and when you consider the monthly costs to use WHMCS on the higher tiers it works out cheaper, if you run into an issue with WHMCS their support is limited while my own experience Hostbill fix it
Maybe FOSSBilling if you are looking for free whm
That looks vbve coded to me(AI prompt image on the side bar which is nowhere mentioned) and not released yet, once released we can discuss it as an asset
But i am looking forward to any improvement they might release
There's a few screenshots how it looks like on Discord channel. It comes with many new stuffs. I did found this on GitHub, https://github.com/blesta/ai-client
