The performance boundaries of Root Server and vServer?
Hi guys, I'm using some vServers (VPS) and Root Servers (VDS) from Netcup and they claim that their Root Server is 100% exclusive.
However, on Manassas in the eastern United States or the Nuremberg region of Germany, the same G12 generation VPS and VDS used scripts to test Geekbench5 performance, using VPS 1000 and RS1000 as examples, their performance differences are not obvious. Sometimes VPS1000 even has higher performance than the RS1000.
My current RS1000 G12 Geekbench5 test is only less than 1400 points for single core and about 4000 points for multi-core.
Maybe they've oversold too badly and feedback from customers seems to be avoiding it.
Of course, putting these aside, I am quite satisfied with their availability, but the performance of Root Server is indeed getting worse and worse, and the G12 generation is obviously not as good as the G11 generation.

Everyone else uses yabs.sh and GB6 for testing, so you might want to run GB6 to make comparisons easier.

VPS1000 is a lottery. If you’re lucky, you get one that performs as well as an RS1000 normally does, but in general they are slower.

The current VPS Piko is no longer cost-effective, because all VPS and Root Servers have increased by 0.5 euros (can be regarded as the price of IPv4, if you choose IPV6 Only, the price is the same as in previous years).
In addition, I hold the old VPS nano (2C2G) and VPS 500 (4C4G), which are very cost-effective for me.
Difference is the hammering of the CPU, not the score. You will get suspended on shared more faster than on dedicated core
Use netcup only if you need LOTS of bandwidth.
For raw performance, you are just wasting money.
How much bandwidth are you pushing and with what server type?
Netcup’s VPS specs are honestly ridiculously generous, so I don’t think it would matter much even if the performance dropped a bit.
Compared to the CPU, I care more about its huge storage. I bought the RS4000 with a 2TB disk, and it’s truly awesome.
The usability is very high, which is his advantage.
My only dissatisfaction is that the CPU performance is not very stable, and the VPS series may be affected by "neighbors".
However, some performance of Root Server is not as good as VPS series (same generation, same number of cores/hard disk/RAM)
