Looking for a VPS in LA, United States
Hello, Guys!
I'm looking for another host provider to replace VPS with CloudCone:
- VPS must in located in DC-02 MULTACOM, LA Datacenter (e.g. 74.48.0.0/16)
- CPU: 1 core
- RAM: at least 1024M
- Disk: 25GB SSD or NVME
- Bandwidth: 1Gbps 3TB/mo or higher
- IPV6 included
- Price: 2-3USD/mo (24$/yr or more?)
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
(PS: I opened a refund balance ticket 3 days ago, no any reply. I have been using CloudCone for 6 years, very sadly)
Thanked by 1mans_xd

@hostnamaste
So the VPS must be on that IP range in Multacom?
I think its just an example.
almost that. but the more important reason is the DC-02 datacenter. because i live in China, Using China Unicom. has go to through AS4837 this sh*t route. only ASN35916 keeps the speed usable at night.
Sad, thanks for the info.
Unfortunately, as far as I know, very few IDCs here use MULTACOM, especially within your budget.
Racknerd might be the only IDC that fits both your budget and the MULTACOM requirement.
I’m curious what’s your definition of "usable"?
If you're running an HTTP/HTTPS website with BBRv3 enabled, many providers here can hit 50Mbps+ instantly. That's more than enough for loading sites. for example, @MikeA old Los Angeles network (Reliablesite).
If you're using it as VPN, based on my experience with CU (Jiangsu Province), I’d recommend using Hysteria2 with Hysteria CC enabled and properly configured. This setup can keep even OVH Hillsboro running at 100Mbps+ for quite a while. Note that this only applies to CU. Don't try this with other carriers (especially CM), your VPS port will get blocked pretty fast.
At night, the speed can reach 50Mbps or higher.
I use it as a VPN and a git server. I previously tried Hysteria 2 from another VPN provider. unfortunately, it was unusable even though the connection was established and stable. i think ISP might be block some weird UDP packets. so i only use Websocket over TLS, it's stable.
I looked at Racknerd, but they don't seem to have the DC-02 options. Maybe it's out of stock?
Hi,
Melbicom has VPS in LA, and the exact DC details can be confirmed by support on the link here: https://www.melbicom.net/virtualserver/?utm_id=2025_BSTForum100
As for the plan itself, the specs you are looking for would be 3.9 €/month:
CPU 1 core
RAM 2GB
Storage 20GB
Bandwidth up to 1 Gbps.
Monthly quota 5TB
IPv6 16 included
I've never seen "blocking weird UDP" on CU, but it's very common on CM and does happen on CT (usually fixed by enabling port hopping). If you're using a public VPN (机场), they usually just use Hysteria+BBR. I haven't seen them use Hysteria CC because it requires correctly configuring your upload and download bandwidth, otherwise it'll backfire. However, you can obviously do this if you're using your own VPS.
Yes, it looks like Racknerd's LA DC-02 is out of stock. Don't buy LA DC-03, that's ColoCrossing, which doesn't meet your needs.
Racknerd Los Angeles DC02 was still in stock last week. You could try to contact Dustin and see if he'll provision one manually for you. In the past it was also only available to 2.5GB plans and higher, but that may have changed.
Hi @david -- that’s accurate, and I appreciate you chiming in.
Due to very strong demand, combined with the current reality of hardware procurement, we’ve been sold out in more locations than ever before lately for our VPS product line, including Los Angeles DC-02. We are actively working on replenishing inventory across multiple datacenter locations and doing everything we can to make that happen as quickly as possible. We actually just finalized an order for an additional 160 physical nodes yesterday (which by the way, in today’s hardware market is no small feat!) and those will be distributed across several datacenter locations.
That said, I’m always open to seeing what can be done in the meantime. From time to time we do have very small pockets of availability on specific nodes, just not meaningful enough to publish publicly since they’d be gone almost immediately.
Those are typically the scenarios where I can help on a one-off basis. No promises of course, but I’m happy to take a look. Feel free to send me a DM here with the plan you’re looking to order, desired location and the email address on file with us and I'll look
Thank You for helping out @concept -- that is correct, our Los Angeles DC-02 upstream is Multacom.
Thank you for mentioning us. Yes, we do have the MULTACOM, LA Locations VPSes (OpenVZ and KVM Both) and IPs in stock, please send me DM and I will help you out.
@hostdare
InterServer is the best fit for your specs at that price point, but HostHatch, Vultr, and RackNerd are solid alternatives if you want more flexibility or different datacenter options.
