DO NOT use cloudcone! Tale of nightmare provider
Here is my experience hosting with cloudcone,
Everything was going fine for the past 7 months until... 3 days back, they claimed they were hacked and a subset of region of servers went down, which to my misfortune my server was located in as well.
They claimed they were restoring services and "backups" to get the servers back online, This whole process took 4 days and still i am unable to restore my server. After i contacted support they said they lost all my data which was precious for me (Completely my fault for trusting a shady provider that was dirt cheap) I ignored all red flags.
Below is the conversation i had with support :
Zayaan 3 hours ago When i go to manage my VPS, i am getting 404 page

Harj N 2 hours ago Hello,
We are currently in the recovery and re-installation phase following
the LA VPS incident. Due to the scale of the impact and the number of
simultaneous rebuilds, some platform functions are temporarily limited
while stability is being restored. For full incident details and official updates, please refer to the
official email that was sent out, which can also be found here:
https://app.cloudcone.com/incident-346624Important information:
• Data status: Due to the nature of the incident, all data on affected
VPS disks has been permanently lost. Recovery is not technically
possible. Re-installation and restoration from your own backups is
required.• Re-installation process:
Once your VPS is cleared for rebuild, a re-installation banner will appear on your VPS management page. Only at that point should you
proceed with re-installation.Rebuilds are queued and may take 3–6 hours due to current system load.
• Temporary platform limitations (expected during recovery):
- VNC is temporarily disabled and will be re-enabled once load stabilizes
- Non-essential VPS actions (reboot, power controls, etc.) are temporarily disabled
- 404 errors on VPS management pages may occur due to high traffic/load and should resolve as load decreases
Some VPS management pages may not load immediately during rebuild operations
• Credentials:
- New root credentials are automatically sent to your email after re-installation.
You can view system emails here if you haven't received them yet to your email: https://app.cloudcone.com/user/emails
Automated response notice: This is an automated response due to the
unusually high volume of tickets during the recovery process. If you are still experiencing issues after reviewing the incident page
and recovery instructions, please reply to this ticket and a support
agent will review your case individually.Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Harj N 1 hour ago Hi Zayaan,
Yes, please wait a few hours until rebuild is available for your
server. If the banner is not showing yet, please allow some time. The node is
currently being reinstalled and will be ready in the next couple of
hours.--

..upon request? It really feels like they don't want to talk too much about it.
Congratulations on your first post, @thatdevguy. Maybe next time you might want to look at the front page of the forum before starting a new topic, so that you can comment in one of the 3 or 4 existing threads on this topic instead.
Can’t properly reinstall without VNC and reboot feature.
Template install is not trustworthy.
Gotta have ISO install.

It is not about red flags. You should always have a backup of precious data. There is no exception to this. Be it AWS, OCI, Cloudgone or whatever. Just back it up!
We don't need yet another thread about CloudCone
