Rick/Bakker-IT review after 2 years | 2 servers | 6* tickets

Hello,
First of all, Rick/Bakker-IT does not know I'm writing this review, nor can anyone ever buy my opinion.
Anyway, I first registered on November 24th, 2023 after getting a server from the megathread. It ran great. It mostly sat idle because it was used as a hot spare for another service.
Later I bought a dedicated server from this offer here
More on the dedi later.
Most tickets are SkyLink maintenance. I get a clear, fast message if maintenance is taking place. Other providers also send me SkyLink maintenance notices, but not once have I received a maintenance notice from others as fast as from Bakker-IT. No clue if they have a special deal to get notified early or if other providers are just slow. It is VERY appreciated getting a heads up, the faster the better.
Aside from that, my communication with Rick / Support has been great. Imagine a bunch of kind network nerds working together. Can't say a bad thing about him or support.
As for the dedicated server I got, I can't reveal much. I got a special price and built a special relationship/opened a bunch of doors. I really, really appreciate it. Currently it runs a bunch of things, from multiple Paperless instances to a Palworld game server.
At the end of the day, I can trust Bakker not to screw me over, and I won't screw over Bakker (I don't even know how I could lol), so yeah?
He is sometimes even online on this forum, so that's a plus as well.
I can't find many bad things to complain about. Only stuff like "I don't like the website."
IMHO it's recommended and the prices aren't moon.
TL;DR: A bunch of kind network nerds with a fast network and no reason for me to complain., very recommended
p.s. this has been cleaned up my chatgpt so you can read my mess ![]()

Agreed! I’ve had similar great experiences working with @RickBakkr Great guy to work with.
Hi @RickBakkr,
I'm still waiting for a reply for #FYM-668176 😅🥲
@RickBakkr is a solid provider with honest and friendly intentions.
I currently only use their services to host a BGP node but Rick has always been very generous as well as extremely helpful (it isn't a managed service but he has configured a lot for me).
@RickBakkr is a nice and friendly guy that knows his stuff.
Thank you, and all above, for the kind words, it is much appreciated and I will be sure to pass them along. :-)
Let's be honest: we are not the biggest, not the best, do not run the latest and greatest ... but we do our best. Over the past eight years of being in business, we have set out a certain approach on how we wish to do business, and it is great to read that our approach seems to work out for you (and thousands of other clients
).
Our website does not reflect servers as such, as it is simply not our core business, even though we have something cool boiling in the background ...
I do not entirely know why the ticket got closed. This was during time when I was abroad, and since the ticket got assigned to me, that might be a correlation ... I have just now bumped it and reassigned it to me :-)
No problem ! Thanks for considering my request!
Glad to hear!
Again, thanks for the opportunities (you know what i'm talking about hehe) and let's hope for long partnership.
If you want me beta test any features i'll happily do
shoot me a ticket/mail
P.s. i prefer smaller companies, hetzner is large and sucks large.
