colocation space

Hey,
looking for colo in Germany or Netherlands where we can put Mini-PCs on 1U shelves instead of traditional rackmount servers.
Setup would be something like this shelf with small hardware on top. Everything stays within the U dimensions, cooling is covered, and everything will be secured properly – nothing falling out or moving around.
We've had issues with tower colocations before (availability, etc.) so we'd prefer a proper rack setup this time. Looking for a full rack.
Anyone doing something similar or know providers that are cool with this?

Hello, we can help you if you're considering the UK.

How many MiniPCs will you be co-locating? And what will be your power/network requirements?

    Hi,

we can help you with that in germany - frankfurt/main at the aixit datacenter.

For a full rack, things will be starting at ~ 700,- EUR / month

If thats within your budget, please feel free to contact me and please give some more details what you need. A Rack is nice... but maybe power would be nice too, same with at least one uplink port and eventually also some traffic and IPs on it. And so on ;-)

Is the location a hard requirement or another EU country would do fine as well?

I think at least the following data centers would have no problem with this, but I don't know what the current situation is regarding available racks.

    • MyLoc Düsseldorf, Germany
    • Interwerk Frankfurt, Germany
    • Skylink Eygelshoven, Netherlands
    • Webdiscount Münster, Germany (However, I fear that these are more expensive than the others mentioned.)

Other datacenters probably won't have a problem with this either, as long as you ensure that your equipment remains securely in your rack :)

If you plan to rent additional racks in the future, I would contact the data center operators directly. However, for a single rack, it is quite possible that you will get better prices for traffic and possibly also electricity from a reseller.

The main issue is the distance. If anything breaks, we can't just "come by" if the distance is big.

We could also fit the hardware into 4U mining rig cases: https://www.inter-tech.de/productdetails-139/4W2_MINING-RACK_EN.html

MyLoc requires some sort of insurance, which will be hard to get for us, as what they ask for isn't specifically available for non-German companies.
    Interwerk we did contact.
    Skylink has no space left.

We are looking for a full rack – more to come after that, as we are expanding currently.

Power per rack would be around 4-5kW. A 10G uplink would be sufficient, and bandwidth-wise we don't need much – probably around 50TB would be enough. As for IPs, we wouldn't need many since we'd be NATing internally so we don't need a public IPv4 for every device.

We can offer a few U initially, with later upgrade to half or full rack in Berlin. We have some spare racks available immediately in that location.

    We can help you this.

We offer full‑rack colocation in The Netherlands, with facilities in Amsterdam and The Hague. Using 1U shelves for Mini‑PC deployments is perfectly fine as long as everything remains secured within the allocated U‑space.

Feel free to reach out if you’d like details on power, pricing, or availability.
