Looking for Custom Dedis in SG — Providers, Shoot Your Shot

pompompurinpompompurin Member
edited January 31 in Requests

Need a dedi by the end of next month.

CPU: Any newer/popular AMD CPU is fine
RAM: Minimum 192 GB, ideally 256 GB
Disk: 1 TB is enough, must be Gen4 NVMe
Bandwidth: Doesn’t really matter, but if you can throw in 60 TB for free, that’d be awesome lol
Price: Under $300
Location: Preferably Singapore or Japan, US is last choices

I’ll be running a DB + Dragonfly cache on this box, so top priority is lots of fast RAM and very fast NVMe. CPU performance comes second (mainly for Dragonfly’s parallel processing).

Hi, would you consider the UK?

  • nikionikio Member

@jayjay has Hong Kong, not sure about SG though.

OVH has 3rd-gen EPYC servers in your price range: https://eco.ovhcloud.com/en-au/rise/rise-4/?datacenters=sgp:1 and https://eco.ovhcloud.com/en-au/rise/rise-5?datacenters=sgp:1

@NDTN (Greencloud) has VPS in Singapore and has a separate Dedicated Server brand, but I'm not sure if the dedi brand has offers in SG.

    Hey could you

    • Downgrade CPU, too overkill
    • Downgrade Storage, only need 1tb
    • Add Ram

And reduce the monthly cost, thanks

@Nube, I'd like to ask about your vps.
The vps are billed by minutes, Ingress traffic is free. But, how the egress traffic is calculated? Is there a minimum traffic usage per instance/month or life cycle? For example, if I spin 2 instances for less than an hour before destroying it and each consume 500MB of egress traffic , will I be billed for 1 or 2 GB? Is there zero-rated egrees traffic e.g traffic peering?

    Hi,

Melbicom has an option for custom configuration of AMD dedis.
You can check the link here and send a request for your requirements and see if anything can be matched: https://www.melbicom.net/configurator/?utm_id=2025_BSTForum100

Check @perfectip and @kuroit as well maybe? And @advin / @advinservers if Johor, Malaysia is fine.

(Have not used any of those three so far but those had/have offers close to your requirements)

    • VPS instance has a minimum billable life cycle of 6 hours.
    • Only egress network traffic is billed. If you send 10GB, you will be billed for 10GB.
    • Each byte leaving the VPS NIC is calculated regardless of destination IP

    So, I'll take it as

    • minute billing, minimum 6 hours
    • minimum 1GB per life cycle/month
    • no zero rated egrees

Too bad that it's 6 hours minimum

We do not provide private NIC. So yes, all bytes leaving the only NIC will be invoiced.

    • Creating and destroying incur high IO loads. The 6-hour minimum is introduced to prevent abuse.

I see, then traffic pricing is really fair. But the 6 hour minimum isn't good. Even when it cost just a few cents at a time.

  • NubeNube 🚩 Host Rep Tag Suspended

@rpqu the 6-hour minimum is probably going to stay. Otherwise, we will charge a set up cost of 5 cents perhaps. Either way, it's your choice.

Not all SSDs are NVMEs! As it seems to be important to you, better ask. (Crude rule: if provider offers NVMe they usually do say so).
