If you’re targeting 4 vCPU in EU, I’d look less at the raw core count and more at how those cores behave under load.

A lot of budget VPS advertise 4 cores, but they’re shared threads with aggressive oversell. It can feel fast in benchmarks and then slow down once the node gets busy. The main things I’d check are sustained CPU usage, IO limits, and whether the provider is known for stable nodes rather than peak specs.

Also think about what the VPS will actually run. For web workloads or light services, consistent IO and predictable network usually matter more than squeezing extra cores into the same budget.
