Looking for (cheap) VPS with dedicated CPU cores or VDS
in Requests
Hi! I would need a VPS with dedicated CPU cores or a VDS/Rootserver/however they could be called.
I have the following points, the more of them are met, the better:
- location in the EU (at best Netherlands or Germany)
- dedicated CPU cores
- at least 8 GB RAM (can also be older DDR3, doesn't matter too much for my use case)
- 256 GB SSD storage (or a smaller SSD for the OS and a bigger HDD for storage; NVMe is kinda overkill)
- at least 5 TB upload bandwidth per month (speed is not that important, can be only 100 mbps for example, but stable)
- installing Windows must be possible
- price should stay under 15 EUR/month
These resources will be used non-stop, no idling.
Thank you!

@AezaHost, @netcup or @Hetzner_OL if you just want cheap / the very most your money will get you (in theory, not practice).
Hi,
Can be also done for 14,90 EUR / month
Serverlocation: Germany - Frankfurt/Main
More info here: https://layer7.net/cloud-server
Edit: The cores are dedicated. They can be used 24/7/365 for 100% permanently.
Thank you for your replies! For now, what Layer7 offers seems the best option for my use case. Still, I will wait a few days before ordering anything - maybe more offers will come.
I wouldn't really go with Netcup as I tried to make an order with them a while ago and they requested a photo of me holding a piece of paper with their code + scans of some documents. I understand why they need to verify users but I think they go too far, with other providers a photo of my ID or a receipt with my name and address was enough.
I already have two VPSes with Avoro and a normal decision would be to buy the third from them too, but I saw that they don't explicitly mention if the CPU cores are dedicated or not on their website anymore.
Hello,

"VPS with dedicated CPU cores or VDS"
what? a vps with dedicated cpu is a vds!
yabs please
Hi,
simply get a free test server and run it.
But you will anyway just see what our website already publishes in term of speeds.
Even if this is not relevant to my request, yes - you're right. Still, I can swear I saw more than one provider that was using the term VPS and was advertising dedicated cores...
What is relevant? But what you wrote was just meaningless somehow!
Relevant is for me to find an offer for a whatever you want to call a virtual server, with which I can do what I am planning to do. I don't make requests here unless I really want to buy (I have two requests in the past and I bought services from two providers that posted there, now I have more than a year with both).
I think that people that wanted to help understood what I need, if you are looking to ragebait someone keep looking.
i didn't mean to provoke you. i'm sorry if it came across that way. i hope you find what you're looking for!
Looks like your free test servers are out of stock right now.
I bought a Ryzen 9950X3D VDS with two cores from Layer7 (guiding myself by the Passmark score, it should have been more than enough) but seems like there are other technical things that I didn't consider and the server performs too bad for my use case.
I am not saying that Layer7 is a bad provider, not at all! Price-wise is a very fair offer and I might consider them for other projects in the future, but for now I cancelled my VDS.
Hi,
feel free to open a ticket and let us know about the problem.
Maybe we can work something out.
Customers can usually not loose anything by communicating with us about issues.

Hello,
We're not cheap, but we can help you
Send us a message telling us what you need, and we can assist you
We have Ryzen 9950x available in different locations
Thanks to all people who replied!
As I said, I went with Layer7. As requested here, I made a ticket and he went above and beyond to accommodate my needs.
If I can use their services for this project in the long term remains to be seen, but for now I am stopping my search.
