no price increase yet for this update? weird. maybe around march.
I dont know about you, but my Jan 2026 invoice was a good bump higher than my 2025 invoices
EDIT: Yep about 15% of a bump, I guess this release of WHMCS 9 (could have been a minor bump looking at the change log to be honest) will be the scapegoat for their 2026 inaugural price hikes
Wow, credit notes. Only 15 years later than they should have been released.
Full release notes: https://docs.whmcs.com/releases/9-0/9-0-release-notes/
Nothing really all that interesting or noteworthy from what I can see. Credit Notes already existed, did they not? I always add a note when assigning credit to a customer (usually just a ticket ID that corresponds with the conversation as to why they're getting credit)
2FA check is good, but could have been added at any time.
Rate Limiting for User Login Attempts - Shocked this wasn't already a thing.
Technology Preview: AI Support Copilot Addon Module. Gross.
Streamlined MarketConnect Product Access - Third party products I never see anyone actually sell.
Surprised that this qualifies as a major release. Sadly, it's still the best option available. Give it a year or two and hopefully some other alternatives catch up.
No, credit/debit notes are financial documents required for compliance in the EU (not actual 'notes'). Basically, when you refund a payment, you issue a credit note. This is a real thing that's needed, as all of us operating from the EU have to do our manual integrations. And it was proposed 10 years ago: https://requests.whmcs.com/idea/credit-note-in-compliance-with-uk-vat-legislation . It was needed/mandatory for everyone operating out of the EU. And they released it only 10-15 years later than they should have.
I already spent time integrating 3rd party invoicing with WHMCS and this update also stops editing invoices when they are created, this is good if you rely solely on their system, but will be big PIMA to adjust some prices or add things, especially when invoices generated by their system are not used as official ones.
Not mentioning that i still need my invoicing software to put invoices in central einvoicing system from this year, as Poland decided even less privacy and more control is better for everyone.
You don't get it. It takes a long time to copy public addons and make your own then encode them in a release.
👌🫡
I wouldn't expect any official WHMCS KSeF support. Until maybe 2036. 🤔
But there seems to already be an integration for that created.
HAHA that was my first thought, if doing business as usual updates for the last few monior updates justifies a 100000% increase, then I assume that a major version will justify a 50 per day fee per letter in each customers name.
Nothing in this changelog that I find interesting. A lot of it is very much specific to certain use cases that most of us probably don't even use. I, for example, don't use marketgoo, Worldpay, OpenSRS, Skrill, etc, and have no interest in using AI powered support.
It's a shame since there's a lot that could be improved upon that would improve the experience for both customers and staff alike (and, yes, I give votes on quite a few changes I'd like to see each month on the feature requests website), like Cloudflare Turnstile - I know there's a hook for this but it should be available in the core.
For me using WHMCS invoices would turn into bankruptcy, but that's just my POV.
It is a lot cheaper to put this invoices in accounting system directly, this way we save 90% of accounting fees.
But that's just Poland beeing Poland
