What is going on with OVH

xvpsxvps Member

When I (from the EU) visit https://www.ovhcloud.com/en-ie/, Eco servers are removed from the menu.

https://www.kimsufi.com/en/ links to https://eco.ovhcloud.com/en-ie/kimsufi/, and it still works. It is only on the eco. subdomain that the link to Eco servers appears in the menu.

Are they preparing to restrict access to buying Eco servers, or is this just an OVH hiccup?

It's just OVH being OVH. They always go from: "Let's integrate so it's easier to manage and only one platform/website for all" to "Let's differentiate offerings by tier so we can better serve our (premium) customer". That's how kimsufi.com got started/merged and now I presume split to eco. Before Kimsufi, cheap server were part of the normal OVH too. It's just a cycle, it will come around in a few years.

    That's how people get promoted.

To me it seems like OVH is trying to get a big chunk of low end market share, and also shift from Cheap dedies to VPS, so they can have bigger margins

Then there would be no KS-B and KS-C. I think it has something to do with redesigning of the sites, since its all parted from each domain. They should finally integrate all in one place and only redirect domains.

My biggest guess is, restocking while not showing on main page.

    Both scenarios can coexist :)

  • Probably preparing for the launch of the new product lineups

EU guys are so rich...can afford to bump up to the next level of servers.

Or, ECO are sold very fast than others.

eco.ovhcloud.com has been a thing for years tbh.

But if you want a real surprise, look at eco.us.ovhcloud.com.

    it's french

  • Its ovh, their panel is the worse shit I've ever had the chance to experience. Even simple clicking between option on the same menu would reload the whole damn thing and it'll reload for another damn minute.
