Hi @john_sd3 -- Great question, and totally fair to ask. To be transparent with you, domains aren’t really our core focus. We’re much more infrastructure / hosting-focused than we are a domain registrar. We do offer domains for those who prefer having everything under one roof, but that convenience comes at a different cost structure compared to large, domain-focused registrars like Namecheap that run aggressive loss-leader promos.
Since domains aren’t our primary business line, we don’t try to compete toe-to-toe on promo pricing there. Because of that, most of our customers actually register domains elsewhere (which is generally best practice anyway, to diversify), and then simply point the domain to our infrastructure.
If you’re trying to optimize for value, I’d honestly recommend grabbing a discounted .com from a major registrar running promos, then pairing it with one of our VPS deals, such as one of our Black Friday VPS promos. We’ve kept the BF deals available a bit longer for folks who missed out, and they’re essentially pre-hardware-shortage pricing, so it’s a great time to lock something in at yesteryear’s rates
