Hello, i am looking a simple vps with freebsd just to learn and test. nothing fancy.

I don't want charity or a free VPS (To get it, you must jump three times and land with your hands on a chair.)

$.01 - $2.0 per month max.

checked on my actual providers but none has Freebsd to install on the vps.

dedirock delux and racknerd, tna, solid, veluxscam (fuck you), no need to tag them.

thanks

    Hi,

https://tierhive.com has FreeBSD (and other BSD') starting at:

    Estimated Cost

    0.000490 USD/hr
    0.011770 USD/day
    0.357992 USD/month

    Pricing calculator on the website.

1 hour minimum, free tokens on sign up so if its not for you, then no problem, nothing to pay, we dont even collect your personal details, you just need a non-disposable email address.

They offer a free plan for learners (ipv6 only) and expensive paid plans.

Sadly no vpn to sign up or use the service sort of kills the "no personal details" vibe.

Pretty much any Linux VPS you buy nowadays is able to supported nested VMs. Install virsh/libvirt/qemu whatever you want to call it. Then you can make as many little FreeBSD playgrounds as you like.

Only advice I can give you is don't assign more RAM to VMs than you have on your machine, minus some error margin, and don't assign all your cores to any one VM or things might crash under load.

That was done because to be honest, we were just getting absolutely swarmed by China with people registering 50+ accounts to get all the free tokens.

It is being relaxed, infact it already has been quite a bit, we don't ask for your name, address or phone number, if you find you cant trust us with your IP and you happen to be on a VPN that uses one of the ASN's we had to block then it seems you probably already gave all yoru personal data to a VPN provider.

If you dont feel that applies, and you want to test things, I am human, drop me a PM, I will find out what if anything, is still blocking you and we will make it happen :D

    Hi!

We have FreeBSD Templats and they require at least 1 GB of RAM.

We can do 1c1g 15 GB NVMe for $2.00/mo with FreeBSD in any of our locations! (old LET Promo of ours on the N1 Package 👀)

I do understand and don't even pretend to have a solution, was just disappointed when I went to test out the system. I will say that requiring my home ip while saying "no personal details" is confusing at least.

Anyway I'll hit you up in a pm instead, didn't mean to cause a thing just saw your post and remembered trying to sign up a few weeks ago!

  • You can usually install FreeBSD via netboot.xyz, or alternatively, you can just write a FreeBSD disk image onto the disk via the rescue system.

    Sad
To prevent abuse from mjj, while giving them a chance, perhaps you could make a thread in nodeseek.com (it's a mainland china forum), then let them post the aff link on that thread. Check whether their chicken (鸡腿数目) exceed certain point e.g 500-2000. Then, gave the 0.25 token if they qualified.

Actually, most of the abuse came from nodeseek, despite the first advert being on the exclusive area of lowEndSpirit and clearly saying no orders from China allowed right now, ... well, you can guess what happened.

Perhaps it's better to make one time $0.5 topup for 0.5 token 😅

yep, but what can I do, i read a lot for it through a translator, the conversation was centred on how to get free resources, people talking about x number of accounts etc, seemed pretty obvious the motivation.

The issue is if I allow that to just happen for user numbers, they take up ALL resources so no actual customers can even test the platform.

I think we will likely remove all restrictions but if you use a free email or DC ASN, proxy etc then you dont getfree tokens. I dont think a perfect solution exists.

We pay 0.89 per transaction, so that's not ideal.

    Whoa, paypal is $0.49+3.49% right?
Those money will go to paypal 102%. But, you don't have to busy yourself with people who seek zero cost server.

They could escalate it by using residential proxy, then the free proxies worldwide.

Right. It's crazy how the effective MDR is 8.3% even when it's $10 transaction

All 3 renewed as expected. :D

The SJC one I appear to have run YABS on 17/11/2022, 13/2/2023, 21/2/2025 and 7/9/2025.
The NYC one I appear to have run YABS on 10/10/2022, 25/10/2022, 24/11/2022, and 7/9/2025.
The HK one I appear to have run YABS on 10/10/2022, 13/2/2023, 14/10/2024 and 7/9/2025.

There is evidence of me using the HK for temporary storage when my phone got too full last time I was travelling in HK, as there's a couple of large videos from my phone in my home directory, but nothing else.

I promise I will use them this year, how about that?

  • ralfralf Member

In all seriousness, I need to start using these because I know GreenCloud is awesome, but I can't ever give honest feedback because I've just not used these for anything! My 5555 in the UK has had a bit more use but still not enough.

Most providers here either already have a FreeBSD template or are willing to mount a FreeBSD ISO.

Yes. Can you imagine the effort it takes to get free resource equivalent to two hua lai shi chicken burgers (promo price, if not, only one)? With $0.25 worth of token, that's equivalent to 2CNY, which is only enough for a small can of coke or pao.
Also, there's providers out there which sells by GB. But, that's not even the final boss because they could've use roaming esim (outside the esimdb). As telco often become esim roaming reseller (whitelabel) which then tunnel it to the telco's home network and use ip pool from cell network. Idk whether they're using it. But, it's cheaper than residential proxies seller 🤣
