From the newsletter:

Hello,

As part of our effort to provide you with the freedom to innovate and choose, we are excited to announce that we are removing egress fees (outgoing public traffic) from our Object Storage.

Starting this month, you will no longer be charged for outgoing public traffic from our Object Storage solutions.

This change is effective immediately and is visible on the January 2026 invoice for December 2025 consumption.

This applies to all outgoing public traffic from all OVHcloud Object Storage classes, from all regions and local zones, including both S3-compatible and Swift-based Object Storage.

Any data transferred from OVHcloud infrastructure to the public Internet, including to another cloud provider, is no longer subject to egress fees. More information will be available on pricing page, which will be updated in January.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

Thank you for choosing OVHcloud Object Storage. We're excited to see what you'll build next!

Best regards,

The OVHcloud Team

    No.

They only charge by the GiB.

7 euro for their standard out of AZ per TiB isn't bad. It's not gonna rock my world either.
However their 3 az object storage is free for the first 3 TiB. That's nice for small start ups. Just note they charge by the hour after the 3 TiB.

  • Interesting change, I wonder if there's a hidden fair use policy somewhere or if it's truly free and unlimited like Cloudflare R2.

With the free egress taken into account it's actually a good offer, the price is between Backblaze B2 + Cloudflare CDN at $6/TB and Cloudflare R2 at $15/TB.

May not be LET rates but for a serious business, it's certainly competitive for a good product.

No idea where it is as I do not have a public cloud project(this is the first requirement you need to solve).

    However.

    The Pomotion at the top?

    Its time limited

2 This special offer is automatically applied to the price of the “Standard” Object Storage service in 3-AZ regions (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”), valid from 1 November 2025, 00:00 (Paris Time) until 31 January 2026, 23:59 (Paris Time) hereinafter referred to as the “Validity Period”. It is intended for all customers who have or sign up for an object storage service with OVHcloud, and have one or more buckets in one or more 3-AZ regions during this period. During the Validity Period, object storage is free for volumes between 0 TB and 3 TB, calculated cumulatively for all buckets created within a Public Cloud project. The offer is limited to one Public Cloud project per Customer but can be used multiple times on this project, provided that the 3 TB limit has not been exceeded or the end date of the Validity Period has not been reached. Stored content exceeding 3 TB will be charged at the current rates for Object Storage (Standard). This offer applies to the standard rates listed on the OVHcloud website. This offer can be combined with the £200 voucher applicable to Public Cloud services, excluding other discounts or special offers applicable to the Service during the Validity Period. The use of the offer is subject to the full acceptance of these conditions, as well as the General and Special Terms and Conditions applicable to the services ordered. These terms and conditions can be viewed here: https://www.ovhcloud.com/en-gb/terms-and-conditions/contracts/. As an exception, the amounts from this offer are not included in the monthly Service amount when calculating service levels (SLA) and associated Service Credits. In other words, if the Customer’s usage is equal to or less than the value of the offer for a given month, no Service Credit will be paid for any service-related SLA breaches. Where usage exceeds the set limit, only the excess value will be taken into account when calculating Service Credits. The offer is non-exchangeable, non-refundable, and non-transferable, in whole or in part, and cannot be assigned between different legal entities within the same corporate group. In the event of non-compliance with these terms, particularly in cases of fraudulent use, OVHcloud reserves the right to terminate the Service to which the offer applies and/or cancel the offer. The Customer shall remain liable for payment of all amounts due for the use of the Service, including those covered by the offer, without prejudice to any compensation OVHcloud may seek. OVHcloud’s liability in connection with this offer is limited to the value of the offer, as permitted by law. The offer is issued by an OVH Groupe SA affiliate (registered at the Lille Métropole Trade and Companies Registry [RCS] under number 537 407 926, located at 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France), with whom the Customer has a subscription to the Object Storage (Standard) Service (hereinafter referred to as “OVHcloud”). These Terms and Conditions are subject to applicable Consumer Protection laws, and are governed by and construed in accordance with French law. Any dispute that is not resolved amicably will be subject to the jurisdiction of the French courts.

    sounds nice

Standard 3-AZ distributes data across 3 availability zones. Leveraging 3 distinct data centers located in close proximity (a few kilometers between each AZ), the infrastructure has been specifically designed to withstand the loss of an availability zone. Each AZ also has its own distinct power source and a low latency network ensuring data remains safe and accessible even if one AZ is affected by an outage.

For most object storage needs, I think Backblaze B2 will end up being cheaper. Certainly not for every single use case however.
