Why are $7/yr vps rare
what makes it rare to start with? (for vps), why is it so cheap? I might go buy a @DediRock $7/yr vps later.
anyways, thanks for coming to my tedtalk
Ignore the bottom part.
I am holding @nekomikoreimu hostage for 10 ran fumos

because it doesn't make much profit. especially nowadays with parts being so expensive
Free @nekomikoreimu !!!
For me 7$/year servers are rare because all my servers are 3$/year or cheaper
7/y ain't rare. Reliable 7/y rare to find... Rare 7/y in a rare location. Quite rare.

They are harder to find but not that rare; it really depends on what you want/expect/will put up with for $7
In some places, you could get 5 VPS for $7 p/year and have some change
My hope is that if anything comes out of the RAM shortage its that people start realising throwing 8GB of RAM at a problem is not always the right solution
Make 128MB great again!
Showoff!
Imagine 1 GB RAM price in one year

Isn't too early for the April Fools' Day?
common: $12/yr
uncommon: $10/yr
rare: $7/yr
mythic rare: $3/yr
What about $0/y?
@beanman109 is an expert in field of sacred knowledge of $0/yr VPSes
ultra rare: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/4697324#Comment_4697324
@tentor can i have a 5.95/yr euro vps if u have in stock in sweden
Not today but I hope it will be possible to repeat this in future
unheard of:
Tbh it's very good price for a managed offer (but I am not sure if that one is)
Don't want to create them any backlinks, but pretty sure that service is not managed
I had a $1/year one once. Ran great for about 3 years as I recall before the provider folded (and they did so with plenty of notice, refreshingly). Was a Black Friday limited-stock loss leader I got lucky with.
because i bought all of them to host gay porn
If you don't mind going without true IPv4 connectivity (DNS64 or NAT), then it's not very rare to find stuff with good specs going for $0.99/mo or less even without a special deal, I have seen a few providers offer it, even ones that have a specific niche, probably as a loss leader to get more customers for the plans that make money.
You're only going to see it either from established providers or scammers though, it's not worth it unless you're operating at scale with ultra cheap transit/power/colocation or can afford to lose on them, certainly not for us at least since it would be tying a lot of capital up in hardware just to make a few hundred per node per month, let alone if I had to buy IPv4s for every VPS at ~$20 each and ram more than tripling in price
As inflation rises, you're probably going to see $12/yr IPv4 plans become more rare too, so get them while you can.
Pretty please tag me when you do so I can move my Swedish idler to a host who is way more fun!
Because Oracle is free
It's only free if you don't value your soul. It's oracle 🫣
Sorry I can't promise I would remember everyone willing to grab the deal - I am sure the list is going to be large and I am not willing to take responsibility for forgetting to tag someone
I understand.... But I'll be watching you like my first love that got away
Well I know one mythic rare for 2-4$/year or less but I like to stay silent usually. I found it after building my own scrapers for lowendtalk and other pricing lists.
cause ipv4 costs $1/m
not rare, someone use it's free vps for rent(may some other channel's free vps), this maybe a important factor(generate some very low price lxc vps, affect low price market),
