I've been hesitant to mention anything, but my Poland VPS is still up. I paid with Paypal, but didn't sign into my actual Paypal account, I just used guest. I sent in a dispute to my CC company, not Paypal. They approved the dispute and credited my account with virtually no evidence. I suspect they maybe have just done the credit as a curtesy, as the amount was only $62ish dollars. I've never received any of the cancelation emails. My server hasn't been deleted. It was unreachable for awhile back towards the beginning of the fiasco. Make what you will of all of this information. I posted this in the dino thread to hopefully limit the audience.
EDIT: For the record, I wiped my server, payment method, and all the contact information that I could very early in the drama. My VPS is active, but I'm not using it for anything. I'm conflicted if I should put up a tor exit node or something. I've been made whole, but I'm not sure that Lewis' account was deducted for my chargeback. In that case, just my bank gets screwed. I have no way to confirm what actually happened.
You've got to cover your own ass first.
The problem is he can easily just start again with another pseudonym and new accounts with the payment providers.
I just logged in and I DID get the "small monthly fee" email. I think it never arrived in my inbox because I wiped my personal details. The message exists in their dashboard though. For my VPS, it's $2 a month. I'm real tempted to renew just to see what happens.
Don't, he's just trying to milk extra money before the final exit.
No reason I can't chargeback the $2 again though. hahaha
Don't buy something if you intend to do a chargeback. Dinos are against scammers, dinos don't scam others
I'm not intending to do anything. I'm saying if I pay the $2 to see what happens, and they still pull the rug, chargeback is still an option.
It is. I'm gonna let them charge my card again and just pile another chargeback on them.
