    @aluy

    My storage VPS has been down for 20 days around when the UK to NL transfer began, and tickets are getting auto-closed with the message that I "haven't responded in 48 hours", despite my response being the last. I'm not sure what to do.

    Thank you for the fast reply! Ticket #IZS-732405.

    Since the migration, the service only worked once (on the 2nd for maybe an hour), but after a reboot has failed to start (including rescue mode, custom ISOs, etc).

    FreeBSD seems to be available as a template in their VirtFusion panel.

    Other than this, you can always install from ISO ;)

    Is anyone else experiencing extremely poor I/O performance on the storage VPS line? I'm getting around 5 MiB/s at tops, occasionally 8. When I first purchased the storage VM, it was advertised as being hybrid SSD/HDD. I assume something must have happened when it was migrated from the UK to the NL, but I want to make sure it's not just me.

    It's unexpected that the performance on a hybrid drive would be about 10x less than one of Calin's oversold storage plans, so I'm suspecting that something has gone wrong or my node has some very noisy neighbors.

    uh im not sure that i ever advertised as this and if i did it was my mistake cause what was i on. this node is 2x 24TB SAS HDD, there is no hybrid and never was. i can refund you the full price of course.

    Wasn't the UK storage VPS supposedly a hybrid drive? I might be misremembering. Still, it was significantly faster in the UK than it is in the NL, as 5 MiB/s is pretty slow even for an HDD.

    If it's expected then that's fine. I don't need a refund, and I'm actually super happy with the service in general! I was just wondering if something was wrong, since it was so much faster in the UK.

    it was never hybrid no, thats weird if it was ever mentioned as. the speeds on this setup are fairly to be expected i think. i should probably see if i can change that up a bit :/

    It looks like I was confusing your storage plan with DartNode's! They advertised hybrid. I think I was just so surprised at how good the UK storage performance was that I assumed it was you! :D

    I suppose the NL nodes just have slower drives than the UK nodes did?

    I'll adjust my workload to try to improve the performance on my end. I think if I use zstd compression, I should be able to get the performance I need on those drives.
