Cheapest Dedicated server to run proxmox VE 9.1? (For a month)
is there a dedicated server that costs less then $30 or $20/mo since i want to run proxmox VE 9.1 for a single month. atm i checked OVH kimsufi and they have this on sale atm (in USD):

Has anyone used OVH kimsufi before? KS-4 or KS-5 (Both $20/mo) looks good. I'm mostly going to use this for a month since im tight on cash and don't have a job atm. i guess i could wait for another sale for it to bump down to $10/mo or so (im fine with $10-20/mo)
also note: i will check the ipv4 rep if it's marked as Business/Hosting usually i would pick Business > Hosting
ok, for server requirements:
Xeon or EPYC/Ryzen 3/5 are preferred
Ram: 16-32GB DDR4 is fine
Disk Space: 1-2TB HDD (or less then 512GB SSD is fine)
BW & Port Speed: Ideally 1Gbps @ 5TB (more or less i don't really care, actual usage is prob less then 2TB)
DDoS Protection: No, not going to use it for my website but rather as a sandbox (i can just proxy it behind my swiss vps if im hosting nginx with wireguard)
Number of IPs: 1
Location: usually near bay area (SFO/SJC - both i get around 10-20ms/LAX - 30-40ms) or anywhere in the states with less then 100ms to the bay area
Budget:10-20/mo
Billing period: Monthly
Thanks,
Fubuki

Kimsufi or Heymman Servers (if you are lucky enough)
https://www.heymman.com/
i am going to wait for OVH black friday or if they are going to do discounts since atm they are doing free installations atm, not in NA since those are OOS but in Asia or Australia. I checked Haymman Servers main page and it looks like it's OOS atm. ill still wait for other offers first tho. Thanks
Nobody never heard of 'em around here...
But maybe you can message @allthemtings or @TomasSystems about it. They are known to have secret access to all those <$10 dedicateds evrywhere.
Our VPS packages have nested virtualization enabled, so you can run Proxmox on them.
thanks, i will think about it.
do you only have VPS? do you offer a VDS or just VPS for the plans? could i maybe ask for a custom VPS/VDS order if your fine with that in DMS?
If you dont want pay setup fees, go more than monthly.
Ideally you go with 32gig, 16gig works fine, but Proxmox is gonna eat 1GB.
Anything works, even the KS-LE-B but its painful for the money.
atm im going monthly since i am going to use it as a sandbox atm. i do have my old R810 laying arround at my house but i need to buy a eth and HDD replacement, not sure if SSD works on it.
ram doesn't matter for me if it's above 16GB or 32GB or even 64GB DDR4. if it's higher or lower then this then eh, im fine with whatever
20$ is tight budget.. Currently you can get with older xeons for that $. Oneprovider have $17.99 in LA or reliablesite in NY 20$
i am thinking about it, LA has better ping then NY but NY has a better cpu/ram/SSD > HDD but for $2 more. ill still think about it but thanks
Take in consideration that both configurations have old cpus, way older than kimsufi. Better ask which ones are with reliablesite if its newer than oneprovider or in par with kimsufi that one will be good deal..
i did check KS-5 in Singapore last night yesterday for $20/mo but have to do ID verification first with ovh. (canceled, used a vcc. have to rebuy with my real dc ig but not yet) anyhow. depending on what cpu i can get and can it run proxmox VE 9.1 then i should be fine. I will have to look what CPU i am getting though at first to see what year the cpu was made in.
i checked reliablesite and im getting to pay $19/mo ($1 less) but for oneprovider i see i get unmerged bandwith at 1Gbps + 100GB Backup storage and IPMI while RS gets me 5TB @ 1Gbps. not sure about IPMI but OP shows me VE 7 and RS shows me VE 8 with Intel Core i7 860 (or better) but OP with Intel Xeon E3-1230 v2 @ 3.3GHz 4c/8t, hmm, RS has Dedicated KVM Access with Virtual Media. as long i can upload VE 9 manually then i could go with either one but still thinking about both
thats my Falzo that i know
hope all is great from your side
You can consider also VDS which will be on better specs in terms on cpu (mby less $) but shared. Depends your needs. For kismufi they do tend to ask for verification no matter payment method based on country of order..
ok, im buying the $19 dedi from RS in NY. gonna yolo on the cpu anyways if i can manually install VE 9 manually by uploading it
im not sure but ill prob ask if @ReliableSiteHosting allows me to use a VCC or do i have to use my real cc and show my ID for such
ReliableSite Support is nice but OH MY GOD I FUCKING HATE JAVA. Proxmox VE 9.1 works but had to install a firewall first. next time im going to buy a VPS from DataWagon for some other projects in the future. but RS is good enough for now. i like it
The newer configurations support HTML5 IPMI.
Pretty epic setup for a $19/mo dedicated.
I had to setup through java (used for iso) + the HTML IPMI panel (everything else) mostly get 8-10 FPS but yeah. It works somehow
You shouldn't expect more than 8 to 10 fps from IPMI. It's not designed for full time use.
@Fubukibox
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Any chance for yabs ?
curl -sL https://yabs.sh | bash
Better cpu than advertised.
@emperor yeah, letme check on my proxmox node, since i tried to respond to you on my phone at first then pc, fucking cloudflare popup is acting gay. i will send it in a bit or so
@emperor here is the yabs
