How much do you usually spend on AWS or GCP per month?
Just curious how much people here usually spend on AWS or GCP monthly.
Are you using it for personal projects, small production workloads, or something larger?
For me, costs seem to scale pretty fast once traffic or data transfer increases, so I’m wondering what’s a “normal” range for most users here.
Would be interesting to hear different use cases and rough numbers

This should have been a poll.
1) I don't
2) Too Much
3) $7
$0, i don't own any AWS/GCP vps
As the old Russian joke goes, "What's the average body temperature in a hospital?"
"Normal" GCP costs for whom? For a fintech startup offering live trading or for someone's wordpress blog with two visitors (one of whom is the cat who is also featured on said blog)?
$0
Big Zero
I ask my friends for their free trial gcp account and use it for 2 months then i change my friends
We need to break OP into the reality of big cloud sucking.
But Google AI & Gemini is crushing it. Honest truth.
If using big cloud at all, you definitely want a separate CDN for any media.
You're getting absolutely shafted on bandwidth with any of the big cloud providers. Like literally 1000x the price compared to hetzner, ovh, etc.
seriously??? on this forum???
this is not LowendAWS or LowendGCP
me too
AWS sucks
Very overpriced, oversubscribed, and these days is hard to get approved for SES email access on new projects. I have one VM there and it is glacially slow.
I have some grandfathered SES projects and I do like those, but that's the only part of AWS that is good.
$0 but i think the company i work at spend like 20k+ monthly? most on bw.
0.5$ for S3.
AWS under $0.05/m for S3 glacier.
zero $
0$
Planned future AWS expense: 0$
Seriously… this is LET.
At my work we're spending about 3k per month on aws personally im spending 0
Personally none. Just oracle free tier.
At work, a few million $ per month across Azure, AWS, GCP, etc., for various clients.
is oracle free tier good???
It’s been good so far, using it since 3+ years now.
We tried to save a social startup that was burning through raised fund. They were spending approx 2500$/mo on AWS.
Personally zero, unless you count Google Workspace.
I do have customers that spend some dough on cloud services though, one doing some serious work in AWS and probably spend $10k a month on it.
I could understand people using GCP. But, AWS? And not for glacier?
any difference? GCP and AWS
GCP is better than AWS in most instances in terms of DX and other things as well
Google cloud run model has better DX and is pretty cheap fwiw. Its one of the best models in serverless so much so that even other companies like render or something used/ still use it.
Its pretty cheap as well and you don't have to manage kubernetes
AWS has cursed region(s). Then, their storage has history of being cursed if you create large enough blocks Oh, iops? $$
On top of stories from my senpai who spent few years with them 😩.
At my previous job, we spent an average of 32K per month; it was a financial company.
Personal: something like 6 UsD on AWS
The company I work for spend like $350k a month on GCP
