That got nothing to do with icann. They only took $0.20 per reg/renew/transfer. Previously it was $0.18. Registry is the greedy one that took huge percentage from reg/renew/transfer.
Anyway, i've always been wary of these scammy newgen gtld. $10-15 like .com .net .org is fine, but $40-50 is just stupid.
