AI Chatbot Services
There's ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Grok, Pi, AI Studio, Claude, Perplexity, DeepSeek, MiniMax, Le Chat and others.
Which do you use? Which is your primary? Why? How do you find your primary compared to the others you've used?
Do you use the free versions or paid? If you use the pay version, why?
What do you use any or all them for? How helpful are they for what you do?

Everyone here can chat with @allthemtings via DM for free.
Grok is good
The way to go. He might nag you about KS servers you want to let go or trade with his KS-N ones but otherwise you will always get an intelligent answer that is not artificial.
I have an OpenWebUI instance hooked up with AI Studio, HF Inference, GitHub Models and Groq. With what I have, I can use almost any model for free, though with limits.
I have found myself defaulting to Gemini 2.5 for the most part; it's capable and fast. I use OpenAI 20B to a similar frequency. Anything too complex, I use OpenAI 120B or Gemini 3 (via AI Studio).
I don't do too much with AI - i mostly ask it to proofread, translate, fix formattings and such - and for most of my needs 2.5 flash or OpenAI 20B is more than enough.
Free AI studio is basically my search engine these days, for heavy/API use (coding assistant) nano-gpt was (as my subscription expired) my go-to
I am using the free plans of ChatGPT and Grok
I'm using free paid plans for Gemini Pro, ChatGPT Go and Perplexity Pro...
"free paid"?
For daily tasks gemini
For coding and more complex tasks i prefer claude
I use Claude Max 20x for coding an most tasks really. I also have Felo.ai for research but I will probably cancel it because Claude is pretty good with that too. I also have X Premium so I use Grok a bit to ask other "opinions". Claude is by far the best LLM I've used so far. Opus 4.5 is just incredible.
How are you comparing quality between different LLM/chatbots? What factors are you taking into account?
For coding, the main comparison factor for me is how they perform with complex refactoring tasks. Claude consistently outperforms the others for me because it understands the context very well.
For research, I often cross-check the results from multiple sources when I need to be sure. Felo.ai is great at giving you factual information with the highest accuracy. Claude is awesome when you use the research feature and explicitly tell it to perform web searches since sometimes otherwise it doesn't and it hallucinates. But I absolutely love how it does deep research and how it builds the final answer.
Claude is best
Paid Claude pro 5x plan, paid Mistral plan (it's quite fast), and I pay for Kagi Ultimate and get access to the rest of the models through that.
I have used Claude Max 20x so much in the past few weeks that I wonder how many billions of tokens I have used.
i use ChatGPT and Grok
for work, i use dirty cheap API reseller (claude Opus etc...), 0.2 CNY = 1 $ , it's fvcking cheap
Where
How do you find the difference(s) between the free version and the paid versions of the (same) AI chatbot?
I use Bexa AI because it speaks any dialect correctly 😅
Perplexity free and paid are roughly similar with the big exception that free allows three deeper queries per day. Paid is unlimited. So if you're okay with using it just three times daily, it might work well.
What's the difference between the three deeper inquiries and the results you get the rest of the day after those three?
Not exactly sure. And I wouldn't be surprised by anyone claiming the post-three are as good or better than the actual three.
Pretty consistently, I limit myself to three daily. Not saying it's the best option. Just what I do.
Anyone interested in sharing a 'Google One Pro' subscription for less than €20/person for a year? 'We' are currently three people and need three more interested. As far as I've seen, the offer expires tonight.
