  • Good morning @ 2026 🌞

I missed the SolidVPS $14/y deals because it would be 5:30AM in my morning. Well, 14 dollah saved is 14 dollah earned

That's one positive way to look at it.

Guys, I think I became destroyer of idlers, saver of the great coins. I blame @FAT32
I recently got a invoice for a Indian VPS.

    so I checked my smokeping.

Digustang, marked for termination, even if its just 10€/y

I thought you should blame OVH instead

wtf do you mean, 2ms jitter from a VPS to my KS-LE-B.

I mean don't you spent a lot on OVH?

    40$/m, but that gives me 4 dedis, 187GB DDR4, 32 cores and 7TB (Raid 1) storage.
    Isn't a bad deal or?

With other providers it is enabled by default.

same i have 2 vps and none of is enabled by default

Live chat support asked me to send a mail, then asked to open a ticket, maybe next I will have to tag Hostsailor on Twitter

Yes, I sent the email and the service ticket, but no one has replied yet.

@fengbule Due to high number of orders, it can take few hours. But, we would definitely respond back as early as we can.

If you're anyway waiting, try installing Alma first and then reinstall whatever your choice distro is. At some setups, it seems installing Alma seems to "unlock" something (CPU wise) that stays unlocked on the next OS reinstall (I have no idea what the trick is to make the hypervisor do this).

Just search around (I think even in this thread). You'll find some references that should help you along.

I will do that if support doesn't enable the mentioned config in next few hours. Thanks for sharing the trick.

Can I get full refund? Because I do not understand why I need to share my root password for enabling AMD-V? No provider ever asked for it before, looking forward to refund.

The support is wonky at times but if you just refuse they find a way to fix it. I was trying to install windows. Their support just refused intially. Then asked me to pay big bucks. I said I have my own license. Took 24 hrs but made it work.

    any deals

    What do you need ?

What about 2c/4g in NL for $12 (considering 4c/8g is $24)

Also just curious, will you bringing in own hardware at other leaseweb locations?

Cant do $12 because $6 is my IP cost.
    I can do $18 for 2C 4G

And Yes, Singapore and HK is next.
But hardware price went crazy, what a bad timing to host own hardware :'(

Can you contact me when you are in Singapore so we can have a coffee or something

I’ll have coffee with you if you’re lonely

I am not surprised honestly. netdynamics was another surprise over the years with different hosts. They store passwords in plain text.

I had forgotten about a backup plan I had with them. I signed up for a new one. I had some issues. I opened a ticket and in that ticket they just casually mentioned my old password. However, they do claim to have fixed that now. But trust once broken, is always broken.

@anubhavhirani Dear I have replied to the thread as well. And clarifying it here again.

    Important clarification:
At no point do we require or need a customer’s root password to enable AMD-V or AES-NI. If this was communicated incorrectly via live chat, that’s on us, and we’ve flagged it internally.

    Regarding the password reset:
Resetting the root password without explicit confirmation should not have happened, and we sincerely apologize for that. This has been escalated internally so it doesn’t repeat.

We’re happy to offer a full refund under our refund policy or happy to compensate with special exclusive offer for you.
