Hi there, I recently bought a plan from Incognet. I had one ticket initially asking a question about domain registration that was answered quite promptly but I had another billing question that has not been answered since Dec 7 so getting close to a month. The first time I followed up on the ticket which probably put it back to the end of the queue but I created another ticket with priority high and also no reply for a week. Ticket number 1222J30C0

I've been very happy with the services themselves but I would not use this for any production sensitive stuff given this experience - I did see the reviews about slow ticket response time on Trustpilot and here and was hoping things had changed given some of the things MannDude was saying here but that looks not to be the case.

It is frustrating to have to sign up for a LowEndTalk account to communicate with the provider, or in some cases I guess people who gave poor reviews on TrustPilot - there is no other way to contact other than the ticketing system.

This is a really unique service as I love the fact that it's privacy centric and the service itself seems to great. I understand that it's probably hard being a one man shop and running things. Really hoping that Incognet can solve these ticketing problems in the future so I can give a full recommendation!

Sorry, I had read the original ticket before but hadn't yet responded. Sales related requests always get lower priority compared to actual support or service impacting items. (Though most service impacting items that are wide will wake me up via a slew of alerts and get immediate action 99% of the time).

I'll answer your ticket, which is an inquiry about a custom VPS plan shortly. We don't generally do custom stuff but since you've had to wait a long time I'll accommodate you.

We're not a one man show but it is mostly me + part time help, but many things still require my review / response. After the New Year we'll be caught back up again.

Thanks so much for your quick and gracious response about the custom plan!

I can tell @MannDude cares about his customers and wants to make things right. At the end of the day I trust a provider more if they're accountable and own up to things. Looks like he's attempting some very cool and unique offerings I don't see anywhere else and I wish Incognet all the success in the New Year and going forward.

Unrelated but I'd still be interested in MyPrivateInbox. Namecrane + MxRoute are for a different market. I'm always interested in new options in E2E encrypted email. At the top of my list was Posteo but strangely enough they don't have a crypto option.

Likewise. MyPrivateInbox may not replace my other email subscription, but I would definitely consider it to hook some domains up to for side projects if the pricing was better/more domain spaces were offered.

unfortunately, prompt responses have become rare. i have had a problem since october that keeps recurring. last ticket was on december 7, and still no response. too bad.

no attack! no, it was about something else. i have now terminated the vps and shared hosting at the end of the contract. but i'm not leaving with hatred or resentment, because things have actually been good over the last few years... until things changed.

Understood. Got a couple dozen tickets in queue right now and will work through a few tonight and tomorrow. A couple are related to a weird IPV6 issue in WA only and then some non-urgent or non-service-impacting tickets from what I've seen with some random billing/sales related stuff mixed in.

If a service impacting ticket was overlooked then I do apologize. We'll be caught back up soon.

Glad to hear you mention this issue. It's been more than a month since I submitted a ticket about the IPv6 issue, still waiting for a solution.

It's not an urgent problem and can be solved by setting an automatic command, so I can continue to wait. IncogNET service is generally reassuring.

I'll check back with our upstream in WA. Only in WA has the issue been reported and it extends beyond any single hypervisor and has been reported on both our older Legacy VMs and newer ones in VirtFusion.

+1 for MPI, especially in EU.

    How does Bulgaria sound?

There is a slight possibility to do this in Switzerland as well, though I'm not sure if I want to fuss with it too much as our setup there is a bit wonky (but usable).

I'd take either location. And there's already a major privacy email player located out of Switzerland, so slight preference to Bulgaria.

    Did you consider Norway?

    Why Norway?

Also I think it’d be easier to do something on the network he already owns/has connections with.

Norway for legal and social norms, pro-privacy and support for free speech. Independent. I'm really no expert, but I'd challenge any location to match Norway. Iceland comes to mind also. If operating inside the European Union is easier because of work already done, then that obviously matters too.

Iceland would be nice as well.

  • Guys, do not forget that all that classical Norway/Switzerland pro-privacy is very relative these days and applies very selectively.

MPI wouldn't be anywhere we're not already operating.

I'll look more into things, namely looking into the feasibility of Bulgaria for this.

Happy New Year all. About six hours away from New Years here in my current locale. 2026 is going to be a good year for IncogNET, I can feel it.

Yes. Generally speaking, all these posh pro-democracy pro-free speech jurisdiction are not really 100% safe heaving. This is all very relative and depends who is chasing who and what resources he/she is willing to put into this chase. However, this is a good marketing gimmick.

All the more reason to get product to market and not worry about where it is. Heck, I'd be fine with Kansas City or Liberty Lake.

I'd expand it to argue that no jurisdiction, democracy or free speech-supporting or not, is "100% safe." There are tradeoffs everywhere. Pick your threat model and go with it.

  • @ServerBachelor said: I'd expand

Yes, this is essentially what I meant.

Ok, MyPrivateInbox is back on the table. Updates on that in the coming month....

...We're looking for more ccTLDs to become an accredited registrar for. Reached out to .mx (Mexico) and .ps (Palestine). Know of any others that don't require ICANN accreditation? Would like to add some more to our offering since domains continue to be a big part of our business nowadays.

Know of any good scheduling / time management / productivity apps to help keep me on track? Nowadays I've got a lot going on and find myself distracted by side-projects and not having a balanced schedule. Goal for 2026 is to get more organized and on a more proper and disciplined schedule. Downside of working for yourself is you can say, "Nah, I'll do that later, I'm busy now".

Coffee almost done, getting buckled in for a bit...

I understand that it’s about ICANN accreditation, but .ps is not what I would expect for a privacy and freedom of speech supporting business.

I understand that it’s about ICANN accreditation, but .ps is not what I would expect nor want for a privacy and freedom of speech supporting business.

It's just a potential option and we're still waiting to hear back from them.

We've got a few clients who I know for a fact would almost certainly have no issue using .ps just because of their site's content, that sometimes produces complaints, is related to the conflict in the region. They're not exactly pro-Israel sites.

Beyond that, .ps is good for domain hacks which is what .st is used for often as well, however the cost of .ps is much higher so I don't foresee it being particularly a very popular TLD from us. Just like .GD, .FO and a few others that we are accredited for, our pricing isn't that great and we don't sell too many.

In any case, I still want to expand what we can offer directly. ;)

I got turned onto the .ps ccTLD reading some comments about https://x.com/receipts_lol deplatforming incident with Namecheap (Who eventually reverted their decision). Someone suggested a .ps for them. They're not our customer, or at least I don't think they are (though you can find me offering them service for free in the comments / suggestions for resilience) but I thought it was a good idea since I know we've got some similar stuff on our network.
