For those who use a VPN are you able to sign up to forums which use cloudflare captcha?

Depends on the VPS / Network you use.
If you go with any NAT provider, prob, not really usable for browsing.

    Then what do you suggest?

    wg-mesh

  • cloudflare said they are sorry about that.

I post an topic on their fourm (for my country has firewall and I built mine) and mine vps had been blocked by cf

every blocked range tend to have an annoying neighbor. and good person is affected.

Yes, but what is the solution? You have simply described the problem.

  • Shock vpn promising me a free trial promising a vpn which will bypass captcha issues but seem to have ghosted before fulfilling the offer. Happened more than once on this forum.

It's the the game of cat and mouse, no matter your solution it may be blocked later on, and the ip is not the sole factor, also the webrowser fingerpint is a factor.

For example, to monitor pricing changes on a website protected by captcha, I had better luck running on a virtual machine and a basic desktop web browser standard resolution with a monitoring extension running 24/7. Solutions on a vps datacenter with tools like changedetection or selenium like do not work for a lot of websites even without any vpn.

The device also can be a factor; Apple devices are less likely to have captcha issues because of some tools and agreements such as Private Access Tokens from cloudflare.

EDIT: I got too much into detail, but basically it is almost impossible, especially bigger providers, Might have more chances with less-known providers but then, they might have more strict rules such as disallowing VPN use since they can't afford to be in trouble.

I think the IP is the sole cause actually, because I used the same browser profile for both vpn and vps at one time, so everything the same except the IP and when using vpn blocked all around. When using the vps not blocked. Well it is actually blocked on different sites. Blocked for vps on reddit, not on some other site and vice versa.

So yes, I think IP is the sole cause in my case.

To find a VPN's IPs you can just sign up and try all their servers. There are companies that do this, and give Cloudflare the list of IPs.

Then why some other replies here are saying that they have no issues with vpn and using cloudflare?

I misunderstood your question, I don't use commercial vpn services. I run my own vpn via many budget vps and was answering in that capacity (rarely/never having issues with CF).

yeah I didnot mentioned the soultion. if we mention sth, the bad guy tend to find new way to pressure site-owner(webmaster?)

but maybe this could associated with some trusty point in future (kinda link cloudflare account to proof a good person) for this case

    edit:

aha~ own an self asn range + ip could help to isolated from noisy neighbor. but too expensive.

Also some site detect vpn, and tag ip. even the user didnot do evil (fair usage: just like privacy reason/ break some firewall in Iran China Russia North Koera and...) , but onion and vpn is treated under colored glasses.

I know, and that is how I read your reply.

There was discussion that all datacenter IPs are blocked, which vpses would fall under too.

Please provide me your vpses so I may spam them to ground. :smirk: I am only using for personal, not for any kind of things like that. Those days are behind me.

I usually turn off my vpn when registering anywhere. Especially when the account isn't on a privacy respecting providers, when it'll involve payment and when I'll be paying via traditional visa, mastercard, paypal etc since most of the time it'll trigger fraud detection. Not the providers fault even, sometimes its their payment gateway that got triggerred. I do value my privacy butttttt its not worth the time, effort and headaches trying to correct things after the fraud detection.

Umm then what is the point of using the vpn at all if you will lower the shield at points where it is inconvenient?

You should either use it not at all for those profiles or all the time. Mixing them makes no sense and worse than one or the other as you are polluting each of them by mixing. The vpn is then only a rabbit's foot if you use it like that.

I wouldn't use vpn for normal everyday buying stuff or other type of transactions anyway where I was using real information for the reasons you say, the fraud detection issues plus what is the point since you are using your real info on those sites anyway!

The point of me using a vpn is to be somewhat anon to random everyday sites and to evade geoblock on netflix etc. If I'm aiming to be fully anon then I won't be here on this forum, even on the internet. I'll be in a cave somewhere off grid wearing a tinfoil hat.

Mixing them makes sense for my threat model. Theres no generic "best" threat model for everyone.

Actually I found out this is not a blanket problem like I thought. I had an idea I would try some from different location and they work.

  • It depends on what network the VPN uses. Most IPs will not be blocked
