Is it reasonable to expect that in the future, unread mail will be marked read with no input from the user?
On a desktop client or webmail….? Answer should be “it should already do that”?
Francisco
Webmail only. I have at least two folders that contained read and unread mail. Monday morning, I discovered all unread mail was marked read in those folders. Strangely, another folder has still retained unread status for messages. The events of Monday morning did not affect that folder, apparently.
Another user reported something similar likely from the downgrade. You can try reindexing the user and see if that helps.
SM has now put up a notice on the latest release mentioning that downgrading is generally a bad idea from this release (wish we knew that at the time...)

As far as data loss goes, altering read/unread status is relatively minor. Mail showing up in the wrong folders would be a bigger reason for concern. Were the effects of the downgrade fairly limited?
No loss of data, just some flags were borked for one other user so far. Reindex is worth a shot
it shoud move quick if the folder isn’t huge.
Francisco
I lost all my flags. Is it possible to restore them?
Open a ticket and we can test some options. I would try the reindex.

Looks like US mail borked
it's back
For me SmarterMail on "us1" went down this afternoon. It's showing a spinning wheel I've never seen.
Likely it just refreshing a cache. It seems to block web and small when it does that but usually handles it quickly
I’ll check the CPUs shortly, maybe they’re in power savings and I didn’t notice.

We're back online.
I think the lifetime price of 75 USD with unlimited email addresses for 25 domains is an excellent deal. But after read this post and then google search and saw some post and reddit, I'll wait until next year to see if they've become more stable before deciding.
It seems both os drives are coughing up blood. Ones not coming back and the other isn’t happy. Same batch/vendor.
For now I’ve moved all of the SM bits to the data array, which is good since it’s an extra local backup. Disabled some proxy logging as well, basically anything that might’ve been exacerbating things.
I’ll pickup some intel branded drives and do a replacement once back in town.

Hi @Francisco,
Can't seem to access us1.workspace.org. Should I open a ticket?
Already on it.
