What’s going on with VirMach right now?
I forgot to cancel the PayPal subscription for one of my VPS, then I requested a refund in time just six days before the invoice was due.
It’s been almost a month since I submitted the refund ticket, and they keep telling me to wait for the billing department. What’s wrong with VirMach now? Did the owner just run away or something?

Yes, they are gone for the couple past months. It seemed like unsustainable one man operation that relied heavily on automating everything.
And this is totally legit approach in order to minify running costs. Virmach created AI agent before LLMs even was a thing. They are hardcore on automating everything. You get no human interaction at this price point they operate.
Paying for peanuts - receiving scripted monkey responses (or just NULL).
Paid large amount? Chargeback.

The idea is smart. But then with such cheap offers you attract a lot of customers and any issues with hardware, data centers, anything outside of scope of AI autoreplies can quickly lead to falling apart.

To be honest, I am amazed they lasted this long, just be careful if/when you raise a PayPal dispute. Remember the agreement you made is with PayPal to send the money; if the service itself was available and you just "forgot" PayPal will not always be on your side.
If you were within their terms, make sure you highlight that specific part in the PayPal dispute where they agree to refund payments made by subscription within xx days and a screenshot showing the clear date/time stamp of your request.
It should be in a state of running away.

As I remember, they used to charge $15 if you wanted a human response.
Omg. I was pay invoice on nov 2025 because the vps still running (jp 7$/y)

VirMach is paying for a Patron Provider tag they haven’t used in four years, and people are still paying for stuff that doesn’t work, and are complaining about tickets that never get replies.
That’s next-level stupid.
That's crazy. I wonder if he paid for multiple years up-front and couldn't get a refund or something? There's no way he'd still be paying it annually after walking away, right?

My sub $10/yr NL VPS also is working fine and with high uptime.

And I’m not joking, they have earned the lifetime provider tag. But still they didn’t want to advertise here anymore.
I am worried about him, though. He was in the process of installing a huge amount of equipment in a new data center not long ago, and then suddenly there was no news from him from one day to the next.
But this is virmach so you never know

I just got the confirmation from another "customer" that paid support did not change a thing as the man disappeared (died?) completely since 13/OCT/2025.
I do not think it will last until NOV 2026!

That's the thing, he didn't make a return this year.
Usually things would be in bad shape up until the start of fall, and then he'd show up, sort whatever, and then get sales up for BF/CM. This year he didn't do that, nor any (new?) offerings.

He planned to return but did not execute it. He updated the year on vps.blackfriday but never followed through.
