Hi @Ganonk -- This has actually been the case for quite a while now (well over a couple of years). Years ago, in our SolusVM we moved away from exposing standalone VNC IP/PORT access in favor of the HTML5 noVNC console that’s built directly into the control panel.
The HTML5 console is easier to access, doesn’t require any additional client software, works behind NAT/firewalls without issues, and overall results in fewer connectivity headaches.
If you need console-level access, the HTML5 VNC provided in the panel is the supported method at this point. In normal day-to-day usage, SSH should really be the primary way you manage the server. VNC is more of an emergency or edge-case tool, for example during a custom OS install, recovery situations, or if you accidentally lock yourself out due to an SSH or firewall misconfiguration. For those scenarios, the HTML5 noVNC console does the job reliably.
P.S. Just to clarify, the above only applies to out-of-band console access provided by us at the platform level. If you choose to install a GUI on your server and set up VNC yourself at the OS level, you’re absolutely free to do so and access it via whatever port and configuration you define. That’s entirely separate from the SolusVM / control panel console and works just like any other service you run on your VPS.
