@zed Your advice is greatly appreciated.
NPM has built in Letsencrypt so if there is a switch, I don't think I could access it anyway :|
As for others chiming in (please do), but I totally understand it is Christmas day.

  • When I setup multiple servers for the same domains (for failover purposes), I run certbot on the master server and then rsync the updated certs to the other servers.

As a test, I have renewed the cert for fossvps.org (not *.fossvps.org) on our proxy.
Please lmk if the revoked licence persists.
    Thanks Mike.

is private minecraft server(for me and friends, not public) via OPEN SOURCE papermc acceptable?
The vps will also host globalping probe to contribute to globalping cluster(lookup global ping, its a crowd-seeded project to measure latency).
It will also have few personally used stuff hosted on it like kavita, and experimental stuff like setting up script for pterodactyl, etc.

I know this is not overly..."giving back to community" but rest assured everything installed will be open source...but personally used.

    so am i eligible? :)

@Protocol903 Thanks for asking - the title is pretty clear "Free VPS for Open Source Developers". It is not for running something that is Open Source (without being involved in the development). If you are developing then I would happily accept an application.
I am sorry and wish you well.

Looks good, loads without error for me on Firefox now. Inspecting the cert I see "fossvps.org".

Excellent - thank you for your time and feedback.

@msatt If usable for your applications just create a single wildcard and use it for the entire domain; much easier to deal with! Otherwise (again, if your applications are not grumpy) use additional SANs.

EDIT: Forgot to reply to you a page back, gonna try to do that later, busy day lol

@zejjnt Thanks, that is effectively what I have done although we need .fossvps.org and fossvps.org.
Because of the other hosts (uk1, us1, mol1 and buc1) we also need *.host.fossvps.org and host.fossvps.org so there are a few.
What we really need is the equivalent of *.
    .fossvps.org
It looks like renewing fossvps.org fixed the revocation problem (fingers crossed).

  • @msatt Thank for the contribution with fossvps.org and quick response in DM for NPM setup in no time.

VPS is working good with NPM and everything is stable👍

Kudos to Mike and the whole team for their contribution for the community.

@TechExhibeo Great to have you on board. Sorry you had the small NPM problem, it was all my fault and nothing to do with the actual server.
Our reverse proxy manager (FNPM) is based on NPM and was 'enhanced' by @nstorm here on LET <3
As you know it means that the client can 'expose' their VM to public http and https access. You can add your own certs or create them using letsencrypt. It solves a lot of the NAT / pubic ipv4 issues (but not all).
I want FOSSVPS to be seen as a generator of Open Source which FNPM is, and want to promote wherever possible the developers and our extremely generous donors.
With developers and donor support FOSSVPS can keep on growing.
So have fun and keep us all updated.
    Mike

  • At least someone is still supporting open-source developers in this corporate-dominated era.

I am lucky enough to be able to make my own decisions and directions as there is absolutely no money involved in FOSSVPS. Without great Open Source developers and support for them, LET would not even be here (based on Vanilla) :(
