Wherever is the cheap option to transfer.
    They are all the same.

  • Moved mine to INWX.de, you have to pay €4 for WHOIS privacy though.

    How are they the best?

So, did they rise their prices?

  • prepare for changing to "nameexpensive" brand

  • The only concern is if Spaceship (and/or Namecheap) raise their prices or not.

Unless and until they do there's no reason to change away from them. If they do, at that point you can easily switch to a lower cost provider.

  • Will keep an eye on Spaceship pricing. Currently hosted one domain with them.

  • support porkbun.com
    best registrar and great support.

Namecheap is providing deals and the best price with their own sister-concern company i.e. spaceship.com :p

  • ..insane sales price. what do they offer.... mostly just simple domain registration.... insane still.

If the price of "transfer" is, say, $15, does the client need to pay the old registrar this fee, then also pay the normal "register" domain to the new registrar?

Oh...sorry didn't figure this thread was necroed

Transfer fee goes to the new registrar. For gTLDs, transfers come with 1 year renewal.

Well, I'd be pretty doubtful too! Remember that when a fund comes in, there's a lot of pressure to increase profit margins, so it's normal to see price increases in those cases. Coupons? I don't think they'll disappear overnight! But they might become less attractive. I don't think they'll become the GoDaddy of tomorrow, but the focus won't just be on competing on price anymore.
