Looking for a cheap seedbox
Hey, I'm looking to replace my liteserver seedbox. I'm paying 20.5 euro/year with my 25% discount for 256mb ram/200gb HDD/NL region/2tb monthly network. I've been using it for a while now but recently I noticed that I needed more time to restart/maintain the server. So I'm considering replacing it with something similar in terms of price. I'm satisfied with amount of space and wanted to get a bit more ram. What offer are there for me? Thank you.

This is a genuine question from a long time seeder - but how do you manage with 200gb storage for a seedbox.
That's quite easy, I only use this seedbox for books with MAM for about 98% of the time and avoid hoarding them. Rest is an occasional comicbooks I wanted to read. For other types of content, debrid services are quite cheap to bother getting an additional storage box for multiple TBs and it covers my needs 100% as for now.
I'm guessing they only have small things or are fairly selective with what they keep seeded. Like, if others have something well seeded, maybe they stop seeding it themselves. I'dunno though
Deluxe hosting had deals of 1000gb box for 2$/3$ if I remember correctly so that might be of help to ya.

It is 23 euro/year, sounds nice. Do you now if they support seedboxing? There seems to be fair usage unlimited traffic but I don't know what their policy is.
If you're not smashing 2tb on your old box - you're gona be fine here .....
I strongly recommend you avoid DeluxHost. I also purchased their Storage VPS - STORAGE-3 plan and used it as a seedbox for ~8 hours. After a reboot, the HDD died completely. ¯\(ツ)/¯
My Deluxhost NVME has hard down every day or other day to point where you have to force stop and start from console unresponsivity
And they place the Virtfusion-API under cloudflare under-attack, so you cannot use the API at all (to reboot it or anything else)
I bet they're the kings of overselling

Interesting, I didn't really use it as a storage box even though I planned to but I was just comparing performances and bought it just for trying it out and I hadn't believed the price at the moment.
My experience only used them very little around 50-60 gigs just for testing purposes.
Personally I got myself a deal (now gone) with a voucher for netcup to get a 8 gig 4 cpu vps 500 gigs of storage for 3 months at 8$ cost. The server costs 8$ for a month generally but with deals + voucher.
Oh man netcup's really good but it would be a shame as I am willing to pay 8$ for 3 months but then the prices are gonna change to 5$ per month because I cant get voucher or the voucher is only one time.
Sad :< but also netcup actually gave me nightmares when paymenting them, never seen a company so insistent on where I wish to pay them money but they make it hard but aside from that, Personally I am not using the netcup server that much too but just have it because why not plus advent calender deals

Go for ultra.cc or seedhost.eu save you time with all vps suggestion . Go for proper seedbox and get discord Support
Top tier trackers, maybe, but lower tier ones have people that report. Ultra may be it for the ease and headache but I personally hate xfering crypto or paypaling them direct.
Avoid unknown/semi-private ones, and it should be fine. Being on top-tier trackers isn’t strictly necessary.
There are isolated incidents where some copyright trolls joined TL during an open signup event many years ago, leading to some people getting fake notices, but they were all promptly caught and banned by tracker staff. Those that have frequent open signups or pay-to-join schemes are riskier.

Most providers "don't allow torrents" but if you're smart about it, you can get away with it.
i.e. downloading 1-2 torrents per day max from a private tracker.
but if you're setting up a script to grab everything and hammering the disk 24/7, or using public trackers, you're gonna have to look for a dedicated seedbox provider.
Yeah I am aware of that but I'd rather with go with a provider who has said specifically that private trackers etc are OK vs run into issues down the line. A few of them will make these statements

for the OP, @shnaps sorry, seedbox niche is too small to have frequent ~20€ a year deals, that's only 1.5€ per month. Actual seedboxes of performance levels are capped on how many users per drive per network connection they can run. Seedboxes consume a lot of IO -- both capacity and performance at the same time. What you had is entry level VPS ... It's wonder you got anything to run at it. To get even more out of it, you can try our software stack tho; https://github.com/MagnaCapax/PMSS it handles some redundancies built-in i am sure you are hitting into. Just re-install debian 11 minimal and run the install script.
