EYY NICE!
I never know what it's like for other places. I know a buddy in canada can't really order anything from the US unless it's cheap since there's an additional tax on top of the import fee. He says it ends up being much more that it's not worth it.
GG sir!
apparently my credit would be same as last 2 places.. i thought airpods were worth more.
i looked stuff up and apparently some Intel gen12-14 mobos accept DDR4 RAM and provide PCIe5.0 .. maybe i will finally go with Intel after decades with AMD... gotta research some more
It really depends on the model but still, you won something for chatting with everyone!
On top op that, my holiday started! What a great day!
Oh that's cool. Maybe a detailed cost comparison and a cost to performance comparison (most prolly amd will win here) could help you decide for once and for all.
That is something I would totally ask an AI to give me a jump start on the research (of course, don't take what it says as 100% truth/facts)
@bchot I've been kind of the same way, always alternating between AMD and Intel, at least in my desktop. It's always came down to the pricing/deals at the moment. Only thing is I do kind of prefer intel in laptops since they do get better battery life without doing a bunch of tweaks. Which, if you did a bunch of tweaks with the intel, you get even better battery life! Though if you only care about powerful cores, AMD has had intel beat for a long time.
Yah, I agree on all counts. And, yes, I am a big AMD fan when it comes to desktops, but, when it comes to laptops, I kinda end up recommending Intel laptops to everyone, except for handhelds, where AMD once again triumphs (MSI Claw was a disaster).
i know.. interestingly google search itself is MUCH MORE welcoming and knowledgeable about AMD than Intel.. didn't go into AI mode yet..
funnily my laptop is also intel. msi but intel. i am a fan of msi.
Yah, as Pudlez mentioned newer Intel's efficiency cores prolly does good for battery. But, if I was going for a powerful gaming laptop, chances are I would still choose an all AMD laptop. Guess they used to call it AMD Advantage bak a few years ago
I'm still waiting for non apple arm chips to catch up in terms of performance. I do love arm64 the best but with current options, you take such a performance hit that I don't think it's worth it if you actually want something powerful enough on the go. At least i feel the $ will be better spent on an intel laptop instead.
Wait aren't the Qualcomm Snapdragon X arm64?
Yeah, amd will beat it in terms of performance and graphics without an actual GPU. Though if you get an laptop with lets say, an nvidia 5070 or whatever, I think gaming wise they will be equal. Intel would get a little better battery life while the amd would kill the intel in terms on compute power.
they are but still a performance hit and they're spendy. Honestly would rather just buy a macbook instead. Though some day it will get there
Hello @dustinc is double bandwidth still available?
Order Number: 8384256619
Thanks in advance!
That's right. If gaming's all one needs, I guess an AMD mobile GPU is really good as well, and an all AMD laptop will also cost lesser if I am not wrong
Yah, teh first gen Snapdragons for laptops as we discussed earlier in the thread aren't yet at their best or even at good levels. But, with community support and tweaks, I guess they could pose competition to Intel and AMD, while still being arm. But, to take on apple's arm chips it's gonna take a lot
Alright, guys. It's almost 2AM here. I am gonna get back to sleep and see you guys later.
Good night and come again, congrats to everyone!
Hello, I would like to double the bandwidth. OrderNumber:3849698285
it seems that if i wanted to have PCIe5.0 on Intel mobo - it would be something like $600 for just the mobo.. and $250 for CPU, making it 3x more expensive than AMD 5 5600+B550 MAX.. i guess go with AMD gen 4 for now.. it's all based on my need to reuse the 64GB DDR4 ram.. in a few years i can do better, right?
g'night man! sleep well!
i will be going now. Cya!
Later dude! Hopefully I catch a stream soon!
Congrats to alllll winneeerrrs !
Maybe tomorrow?
