We actively follow the OpenVZ / Virtuozzo ecosystem, including the official mailing lists, forums, and release repositories. As noted in the OpenVZ user discussions and Virtuozzo release information, OpenVZ continues to evolve alongside Virtuozzo, and its components and kernels are derived from actively maintained upstream sources.
Historically, when OpenVZ 6 reached end of life, we successfully migrated customers to OpenVZ 7, and we handled that transition with proper planning and advance communication. We intend to follow the same responsible approach going forward. If a newer OpenVZ version (or a supported migration path via Virtuozzo-based releases) becomes available and stable, we will evaluate it carefully and provide a structured upgrade or migration option.
That said, we are transparent that OpenVZ plans are offered as budget-friendly options for users who explicitly want container-based virtualization. For users who want long-term lifecycle certainty and maximum flexibility, we continue to recommend KVM VPS, which remains our primary future-proof platform.
We appreciate the discussion — it helps keep expectations clear and allows users to choose what best fits their use case.
