Before her, I've never had a dog so determined to have a cat be a cuddle buddy. It has always been they're not interested or interested until the first slap/claw and then that interest goes away. Never has been this "inch closer pushing my luck until the day you love me!" that she's been doing.
All of our dogs have been buddies with our cats.
Before I was born, we had a cat that was run over about a week after delivering a litter of kittens. The (male) dog we had until I was about 8 assumed the role of surrogate mother, and would carry the kittens around the house by the scruff of the neck just like a mother cat would, lick them clean and let them all snuggle into his fur.
Not long after that dog died, we got two twin puppies, one male one female. The cat we had already was used to the nice dog and I think just assumed that any other dogs in the house would be nice. She probably trained the puppies against being too boisterous, but certainly she also used to sleep with them along with her kittens who were born when the puppies were still young.
We moved to a new town and the cats didn't like going outside the (very small) garden because we lived backing onto a field where lots of dog walkers went. However, every night when we took the dogs out for their last evening toilet trip before bed, the cats would come along and walk underneath the dogs for protection. I'm sure the dogs hated that when they were looking for somewhere to go to the toilet, but they never really objected and were actively protective of the cats when other dogs walked past.
Totally get that feeling!
Yeah, must admit thouy, it's even harder with dogs. Like, The connection is different.
My lab got me through a rough patch in life... When he goes, it's gonna take me a moment to recover.
Yes, plaster! Couldn't find the right word!
And such a sad story! It's kinda a sad thing to be talking about on a thread like this, but in some way.... It makes things ... Know whadda mean?
Oh, that's so cute! Mine are like that. Especially when the fireplace is on. Trying to get the best spot but eventually the cat always cuddles up against the dogs stomach. Such a peaceful thing to watch!
Lovely story, guess animals sometimes make things work better than we do
This them
On the couch, they're not supposed to be on
You: Hey, you're not supposed to be up there
pets: <let's give her the face and do cute things>
You: aw, it's ok, you can be up there this time.
Jessie would love that but she always tries for the reverse
It's just funny watching her work/attempt it because you can tell she's expecting him to slap/claw
Why do I feel like you'd react like this dude @Saragoldfarb

If you haven't yet, don't forget about your gleam daily bonus! Still like 6 hours left for this one!
Hello, I would like to double my bandwidth.
Invoice #19994457
Thanks!
I should really work on a scraper so I can have my own little history of these threads. Would be fun to have counts for certain key things like dustin's flash sales, giveaway, and of course dub requests! Maybe over Christmas break I'll work on something or even over the year so I'm ready for next year.
Though I haven't decided yet once I do make something if I'll set it for every 15 minutes (XX:00/15/30/45) or every 30 (XX:00/30). I mean, I don't really think anything faster is needed unless it's towards the end of the engagement contest and folks are really close to each other. Though, I think that would make it more fun not knowing where folks are actually at between intervals if they're actually that close!
Good morning, everyone. Roughly only 20 more hours remain to the close of the social butterfly contest on the BF thread.
Morning sir! Sleep well? How Monday so far?
Hey Pudlez, going well. Well-rested and since I worked for almost the whole day yesterday, I can take work slow today. But, still need to complete work before Xmas so that I can work on other projects.
So, will be posting here and working, as usual.
BTW, wonder if Dustin would be up for a last day giveaway special?
You never know with Dustin, anything is possible! I do hope we eventually get some insight how he manages all the dub requests between our chatters.
Well, I guess, this year has been extremely busy at RcakNerd. Moreover the doubling requests and thus orders have increased as well. So, all of that has kept Dustin on his toes. Maybe that's why he hasn't been able to hang out with us, like he usually does.
yep, I mean yangyang alone has over 1k and there's been a lot from assassindotcom or something like that. I think there's also a couple others but unsure of their names off the top of my head
with all these dub requests, I really hope I get some time over christmas to make my own scraper for the thread so I could search for stuff like the double bandwidth requests among other things.
This year, we also have 2000+ unique users. Except maybe 10-20 of us, the rest of double bandwidth requesters, ig. Anyways, yes, a scraper that could tell the number of dub bw requests or maybe single out those comments could be cool. Maybe Dustin would also be interested in that.
yeah, if I don't get time over christmas, I'm totally going to do it over the year so it's ready for next year's threads. Though I do think the NY thread would be good test to make sure I get the logic down since I believe the BF thread is always busier.
True, but, for testing purposes, I believe you can most conveniently use a closed thread as well, if I am not wrong. Even if not, you should be fine, cause if I remember, the NY thread stays for a long time and is prolly closed only when a new thread is up.
Yeah, I mean it will only be reads but I don't want to deal with all these comments/pages right away in case I want to change the entries I put into a DB. Plus, there won't be much activity afterwards so I wouldn't be able to truly verify it picks up on the last page it previous did. I mean all else, I could use some other random thread on LET that I know will get comments/multiple pages. I mean they will be perfect for making sure I have all the core logic down. Searching for dub requests/etc. would just be find the proper DB query.
Oh, you are right. The activity might not be the same as these months. Anyways, I wish you luck.
BTW, what are you planning to use - Python?
I have opened up a notepad and made a note about all the data I should capture
-- who the user replied to
-- comment id that was replied to
I'dunno though, just what I quickly made notes on. Only added the reply thing because I think it would be interesting to also have a way to see like "PuDLeZ most replied to noob404" or similar type things. Though I wouldn't be generating those details constantly, maybe like an "end of day" type of thing at most. Either way, just trying to think of everything right away...
The reply to thing sounds cool. BTW, trk was asking for suggestions, and I recommended post count prediction, as well. I mean how many comments would the person have at their current pace on a set date. Dunno how hard it is to implement though.
