Netcup RS G12 Non-promotion Performance

Anyone have non-promotion Netcup Rootserver G12 here? How is the performance & yabs?
I bought G12 black friday double disk and performance is very poor. GB6 single core scored just 1600 for Turin CPU. Almost 30% performance decrease that impacted my websites that mostly Wordpress.

Yes, that could be the case. But honestly, after a few days coming back to check and seeing the score drop even lower than the previous time, this might be a significant issue. I hope netcup can fix this bug. Otherwise, with the current scores, the RS G12 has lower Geekbench scores than the RS G11.

I tried the 1-month plan, and performance is basically identical. For something sold as dedicated, the performance hit is still pretty noticeable. Really hoping Hetzner brings back the free setup fee on their dedicated servers.

But this breaks the myth that Netcup promo servers perform worse.

  • Dedicated vCores means semidedicated, so they guarantee that steal keeps at low. However as you do not have a fully dedicated environment the real performance depends on the host node and previously netcup throtled the network once or twice a day for a short period (2--3 seconds).

I operate a cPanel WHM for a non-profit on an RS 2000 G11 and the overal performance is good but sometimes services crashing (MariaDB, cPanel related services) with out of memory error. Probably they move the instance between the nodes.

If you have issues with the performance try to reach the support but for this price the support quality is varying. I got a complex network issue a few years ago and needed 2 or 3 weeks to fix it. Not affected everyone but I was not the only one, here was 2--3 users on LET who experienced the issue too and reached the support.

BTW I switched to OVH super cheap dedi low-end offers. Network, performance issues fixed. In my opinion netcup is still offers one of the best price-performance products but the weaknesses of the VPS, VDS (or call it as you want) affects their services too.

Hi there, We usually do free setup sales only about once a year, and the last one was during Black Week. But there are sometimes a few models that are still without setup fees, including all of the servers on the Server Auction.
You can see which of our servers currently have no setup fee by going to the the Server Finder on our website, and under "Status", click on "€0 setup". --Katie

AX42 Free Setup for xmas/new year deals 😏

  • Better to use their vSERVER line from VPS 6000+ because nobody want to max out the CPU as it is not dedicated.
