    But one criticism I've raised specifically to noob before is that sometimes it doesn't even seem like he's even read the whole comment he's replying to (on mine at least), just replied based on a couple of words. He certainly hasn't read any of the context, even though it appears right above where you type when you reply.

    Even on posts when I've tried to be sensible and reply with something useful, that's been the usual response. It's all about maximising the number of posts. On one occasion he even replied to the same comment of mine 4 times. Just stick it all in a single reply if you're actually trying to have a conversation.

    But we all know this thread isn't about conversation. It's about "engagement", which is stupid because none of this is about engament, it's about maximising posts. Dustin doesn't really want us to have a conversation either, he just wants posts so the thread stays at the top of the index. I told you guys exactly the same thing last year too.

    So, let's just be real. We all want to win the prizes. That's why we're all playing this stupid game. Let's just be honest about it.

    Exactly. That's what it's always been about. There has been massive backlash about this sales technique on other threads, it's massively unpopular with a lot of forum members.

    it's the exact same reason for all the double bandwidth stuff too. Racknerd set their prices assuming the doubling. Every customer buys it assuming the doubling. Every purchase means one more spam post. That pushes it to the top. Some time later Dustin acknowledges it, even though it's already visible in their control panel, another spam post, and again the thread at the top. It's just a cheap sales trick.

    And I personally don't mind that so much as the reward is some prize. But exactly as I said last year, we all know (or should do) exactly what's going on.

    It's just very very cheap marketing ....

    Usually at the expense of other.

    Can't overshare but been active in this niche for client.

    Yah, I keep thinking about it. But, no dude, I can't put my mind through all that negativity again. Not worth it to spend more on hospital bills due to this.

    Accepting the truth of reality isn't negativity. It's worse when you consider the time cost to yourself of ignoring that truth. In any normal thread, the post counts would get to a few hundred per person at most and you wouldn't have wasted 100s of hours of your life on it.

    So honest.

    Then honestly, the GPU from the prize is useless to you. Very little RAM, not many compute cores. No AI tensor cores.

    You would be better off having the money instead of the GPU and saving up to spend a bit more on something suitable. Or wait a year until the prices drop. But a 4060 is crap for AI. it is, however, great for games.

    So educational this thread, for real.

    Then honestly, the GPU from the prize is useless to you. Very little RAM, not many compute cores. No AI tensor cores.

    You would be better off having the money instead of the GPU and saving up to spend a bit more on something suitable. Or wait a year until the prices drop. But a 4060 is crap for AI. it is, however, great for games.

    Yah, I know. Initially I wanted to maybe get one of those nvidia cards specifically meant for AI, like those colab and Runpod use. I guess those like t4. One look at their prices and my dreams went crumbling down.
    As for 4060ti, I have been learning ai stuff with my apu for the past few months, so, any GPU, better, a free GPU, given prices here are already inflated is an improvement for me.

    Yes, that's true. But, right now with vram shortage, companies are ready to invent reasons to deny rma and warranty.
    Earlier this month, I read a zotac customer's review, where zotac wouldnt give him a replacement but was ready to dispose of the GPU for him for free :lol:
