Haha lols, that describes 99% of the posts from all of us at the top, because it's literally not possible toi get these crazy high post counts otherwise. I'll be honest, a much higher percentage of yours @bchot are interesting.
But one criticism I've raised specifically to noob before is that sometimes it doesn't even seem like he's even read the whole comment he's replying to (on mine at least), just replied based on a couple of words. He certainly hasn't read any of the context, even though it appears right above where you type when you reply.
Even on posts when I've tried to be sensible and reply with something useful, that's been the usual response. It's all about maximising the number of posts. On one occasion he even replied to the same comment of mine 4 times. Just stick it all in a single reply if you're actually trying to have a conversation.
But we all know this thread isn't about conversation. It's about "engagement", which is stupid because none of this is about engagement, it's about maximising posts. Dustin doesn't really want us to have a conversation either, he just wants posts so the thread stays at the top of the index. I told you guys exactly the same thing last year too.
So, let's just be real. We all want to win the prizes. That's why we're all playing this stupid game. Let's just be honest about it.
Obviously there have been occasional real posts, like this one, and the serious advice I was giving him yesterday. But the actual useful content from this thread could probably fit into 10 pages. The other 1300+ pages is just spam and we all know it.

Exactly. That's what it's always been about. There has been massive backlash about this sales technique on other threads, it's massively unpopular with a lot of forum members.
it's the exact same reason for all the double bandwidth stuff too. Racknerd set their prices assuming the doubling. Every customer buys it assuming the doubling. Every purchase means one more spam post. That pushes it to the top. Some time later Dustin acknowledges it, even though it's already visible in their control panel, another spam post, and again the thread at the top. It's just a cheap sales trick.
And I personally don't mind that so much as the reward is some prize. But exactly as I said last year, we all know (or should do) exactly what's going on.
I believe a Discord server would be great if you want to have more members.
Accepting the truth of reality isn't negativity. It's worse when you consider the time cost to yourself of ignoring that truth. In any normal thread, the post counts would get to a few hundred per person at most and you wouldn't have wasted 100s of hours of your life on it.
Especially when there's a free PC in it for you.

FWIW I still think that if this story if true, and if you win, there is a decent chance of you never seeing the PC or the money.
