edited December 2025 in Offers

Hey LET πŸ‘‹,

we’re back with another announcement! We now bring our AMD EPYC Turin lineup to Bremen, Germany. To be specific our completely new cluster is located in the LWLCOM data center and is mostly based on the following hardware: AMD EPYC 9655, Micron DDR5 6400 MHz, 100 Gbit/s network and Micron 9550 Pro PCIe 5.0 NVMes.

The datacenter itself has an ISO 27001 certificate, a UPS (N+1 redundancy), a diesel generator and is powered by green energy. You can get more information at https://www.lwlcom.net/rechenzentren

As most have already recognized the memory shortage led to a huge price increase in memory prices. Despite that, we decided to make some promos available (net pricing | see below for VAT info):

the prices are confusing! for Promo L, is the €8.5/month inclusive of 19% VAT or not? the website does not provide this information under any circumstances!

    without vat = 8.00€/month
    with 19% vat = 9,52€/month

8.50€/month above seems to be without vat, but the website shows €8.00 per month excluding VAT.

  • Does not help for Northern Germany if eg. everything connects via Frankfurt...

bremen is rare indeed... but also in terms of the city itself, it's a shithole. which has nothing to do with the data center, though. :)

Mostly yeah, but Bremen has some nice places too, like the "Ratskeller" or "BΓΌrgerpark".

As more than 90% of our customers are located outside the EU, we display net pricing here. Pricing is automatically adjusted once you create your account, and you can also toggle VAT on our main homepage.

Additionally, there was a slight mistake, the pricing is even lower than initially advertised here.:)

LWLCOM offers an excellent traffic mix. From my home ISP (SWN - approx 150-200km to the DC ), I achieve latency of approximately 3–4 ms to our servers. You can review the traffic mix here: https://bgp.tools/as/50629#connectivity

  • @ComputeBox said: you can also toggle VAT on our main homepage.

did so... but something is still wrong!

it's not good that there are no 19% cheaper prices for locals ;)

@ComputeBox yes, LWLcom is quite old and established so that is a plus. But it looks as if they only connect with DTAG in FRA.

With your Moelln DC it is better with all those HAM connections (Vodafone, Versatel, DTAG, etc.)

Both locations have their strengths. With LWL, we can offer more cost-effective traffic pricing than in Moelln.

Stacking possible? E.g. L+L=XL w/ double cpu, double ram, double disk, maybe even double network but just one IPv4 (I've heard IPv4 cost real money ;) ) for double price with half the support effort?

  • Yes, the Moelln one is running smooth. So a Promo x2 or x4 offer would be lovely for the new location :)

  • Nope, I just got myself a x2 as well. Will see what the normal one gets as a job now as being the little brother, maybe a overprovisioned dev and testing machine.

the prices are confusing! for Promo L, is the €8.5/month inclusive of 19% VAT or not? the website does not provide this information under any circumstances!

    without vat = 8.00€/month
    with 19% vat = 9,52€/month

As more than 90% of our customers are located outside the EU, we display net pricing here. Pricing is automatically adjusted once you create your account, and you can also toggle VAT on our main homepage.

Additionally, there was a slight mistake, the pricing is even lower than initially advertised here.:)

Does not help for Northern Germany if eg. everything connects via Frankfurt...

LWLCOM offers an excellent traffic mix. From my home ISP (SWN - approx 150-200km to the DC ), I achieve latency of approximately 3–4 ms to our servers. You can review the traffic mix here: https://bgp.tools/as/50629#connectivity

    BGP possible?

  • Another Turin offer, very nice.
