The pricing depends on the provider. For instance, we receive a discount of X% from one of our providers because we pay approximately $X0,000 each month. This allows us to offer our services at a lower price than what customers would pay if they purchased directly. Therefore, if you, as a customer, buy more services, we benefit from additional discounts, which enables us to pass on even more savings to you.
If you purchase a service directly from the provider, they can access your data, which means you are still taking a risk. Why should we risk our business by malicious activities on customers' VMs?
Please make sure this paragraph is read by your QA team
VPS data can be accessed by provider, as it is running on their host server. Plain and Simple.
We have directly connected to their infrastructure. They do not provide public API.
Each provider has its own API service, which differs from the others. In this case, if we want to add an X option, we must prepare it for X time for different API services.
That is why the development process is slow. For example, we have already integrated a console option in Hetzner; however, the option mentioned on another provider is challenging.
I hope you can understand the challenge and give us time to be able to move forward!
Yes, I do.
If I were you, my focus will be strong development team to have polished unified control panel — the strongest marketing selling point.
Otherwise it is going to be bumpy journey, in my opinion
We love to focus on development, but in reality, that’s not enough. As a system administrator, I love the development side of things. One of our most difficult challenges lies in marketing. Despite our preference, we must prioritize marketing to move forward because even the best platform is pointless without customers.
Please answer these 2 questions
We are directly connected to the provider's infrastructure. They do not provide a public API, which clarifies our partnership.
Also, in some cases, such as DigitalOcean, you can use your own token in our platform, but it might not be reasonable at the moment. For example, you can consider our solution if you want to use Linode, Vultr, DigitalOcean, and Hetzner simultaneously without needing to integrate your system with different API services. You can use our API service to deploy your VM on any of them without struggling with various APIs.
It is clear from my experience that your QA team has done little to none testing with automated OS install issues
And I have no obligation to report issues
It is hard to get customers with such control panel. Seems like a catch 22 cycle.
so,
Technically, Cassify and not customers own the data (from the providers eyes), right?
Nope.
@caasify is just using the api ...
And seems like that for compliance purposes customer data has to be shared
So, @caasify the providers where a customer signs up, how is the setup done? Do you create an account with the providers on our behalf?
Of course, it is challenging. However, from a business perspective, we need some customers who can be satisfied with the current options so we can earn income. This will allow us to hire new developers, release new options, and then achieve more customers, and the cycle will move forward.
Technically, Caasify is an API gateway or API translator.
I can get VPS for 1/2 the cost with more features from LET Premium Providers.
So, think like a customer, and involve your marketing team.
You have an excellent idea ... but ....... well you know the rest
Wishing you the very best.
I don't understand.
Plus
Do you sign up with providers on customer behalf?
Some providers do not require an account, as we have direct access to their servers. Additionally, you can use your token in the scenarios I mentioned. Alternatively, you can create the VM using our account.
So customer created a vm on your account.
They hosted malicious content.
Host finds it's your account and nukes it.
Other customers data is also at hostage then.
Right because of 1 bad customer?
Thank you so much; I really appreciate your feedback.
Of course, we are not the best, but our mission is to develop a marketplace where you can purchase different types of cloud services from different providers, especially LET providers, on a centralized platform. We are a startup with limited resources, but we are trying our best to make this mission possible.
Even Hetzner, one of the toughest providers in the market, won’t ban you if you have over 5,000 VMs, even if there is malicious activity on many VMs at the same time. The scenario you mentioned is correct, and that’s why we decided not to move forward with providers like Hetzner because they lack flexibility.
Instead, we are pursuing agreements with providers who understand our business model. For example, Cloudblast is one of the market providers we are proud to have as our first LET provider in our marketplace. We sell their resources without requiring them to provide customer support or handle advertising. Additionally, we offer a WHMCS module to other web hosting companies, enabling them to resell Cloudblast resources. This creates a win-win agreement for everyone involved.
Ok. Sure. So cloudblast will not bomb your account for malicious content from one customer. You are targeting LET. And abuse seems to be rampant.
You can claim what you want, no provider will want abuse (it can be anything) and it is just a ticking time bomb for other customers to be impacted by a few customers bad actions.
This is absolutely nothing to do with flexibility of Hetzner or any other provider. This is basic 101 abuse management. Customers with all providers AWS/ GCP/ Azure/ DigitalOcean/ Vultur and anything else you want to add to the mix, will at all costs nuke your account for negligence and will 💯 cause people's to your business model of having separation of customers accounts with providers.
Good luck to all your customers who will be sitting on a ricking time bomb and you too hoping no one abuses the services and hope providers slide it by.
You need to consider the scenario in reverse.
As a provider, if you want to join the Caasify marketplace, you must agree to our terms, just like with any other marketplace.
I’m not referring to AWS, Azure, or similar platforms because they are not providers or participants in our marketplace. These companies already have their own customers and do not need to join Caasify. We also do not consider them as providers because their pricing model is not aligned with our target market. While we currently offer resources from these providers, they will soon be discontinued, as was the case with Hetzner.
I’m referring to local datacenters. From the provider’s perspective, Caasify offers a potential market where they can sell their resources. However, they must be fully committed. They cannot leave the marketplace or remove clients’ VMs based on their own decisions and must leave the marketplace with the agreement. This is why we offer the SLA for up to one year.
Wow, this is bold that you are asking providers to submit to your rules and they are accepting it.
They are providers alright. You choose not to work with them as they are not being flexible to your needs.
https://caasify.com/privacy
This is your Terms of Service link (which goes to the Privacy for some weird reason) from your platform. It mentions nothing about 1 year SLA. Neither it offers any insights on how you will manage abuse.
Neither it specifies how customers data will be managed for creating services.
All you and your site is doing is selling people on a concept without real clarity.
I would ask you to go back and dwell how to gather customers with transparency. Maybe you need to partner with a platform like Caasify that helps companies that have
No focus on core businessIf you are serious of your offering, transparency is key.
NO. You cannot use the excuse it will evolve as customers/ business increases.
Improving control panel/ UI, sure that can come later.
Good luck once again.
We have about 30 resellers who are web hosting companies located in different countries. So, if you join the Caasify Marketplace, your resources will be distributed across all these resellers' websites. This is a good potential market for providers where their resources will be sold without advertisement or customer support in different languages.
You are absolutely right, but this scenario doesn’t work in the real world. You cannot develop the platform, prepare everything, and then go after the first customer. Everything must move forward in parallel.
We especially need to try and test to gather feedback, as there is no similar role model or competitor in the market that we can reference.
We can’t even decide how to design the website’s main page because some customers are individuals, some are resellers (web hosting companies), and others are providers (like data centers).
There is so much we cannot predict, and we are still trying to figure things out and find solutions. Of course, transparency is crucial. Having a VNC option is mandatory, and the option to change the operating system is also essential. However, with our limited resources, we are progressing step by step.
We are actively looking for investors. To attract investors, we need to show transactions; to have transactions, we need several customers. To gain customers, we must focus on the most critical sections.
I have reported the need to add an SLA and update the terms of usage. Thank you for your feedback; I truly appreciate your time.
Inam really unclear on when you say "this scenario doesn't work in real world". If basic things like transparency/ how accounts are managed is not Day 1 item, then what is? Flashy marketing content for your investors? Good luck to them in that case.
I don't mind paying for a premium when things are clearly defined.
Until this is set, I am definitely not the right customer. I value transparency and clarity over everything. Maybe I am the only one that is not wowed by the flashy marketed website.
I hope you find some investors that help you fulfill your dreams.
They are Iranian and scammers, be very careful.
why Cassify is banned and provider tag suspended?
@angstrom and @DP please enlighten us on the case here.
@JasonM @Levi could it be this? >> https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/203308/caasify-review-terrible-services-and-support-just-stay-away-from-them/p1
