Anyone managed to run windows on mevspace dedi AMD Ryzen 9 5950X without BSOD?

Hey,

Are there people here running windows on Mevspace's dedi AMD Ryzen 9 5950X without BSODs?

I installed Windows, and a couple of hours later I noticed the server crashed. I assumed it's an issue with the network driver so I reinstalled the drivers from the manufacturer's website but still no luck...
For the One BSOD that happened while I had the KVM, I saw DPC Watchdog Violation before the server crashed.

I went through the DMP and all I found was an issue with ntoskrnl.exe but I wasn't able to narrow it down to the exact culprit...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Which version of Windows (server)? All system (Windows) updates installed?

    do you have access to the IPMI? If yes, are there any major BIOS updates available etc? I'd check in with your provider first before updating anything like the BIOS, but ideally do check for Windows updates first and ensure alls upto date on the software side first at least :)

    I can request KVM.
    I was under the impression clients aren't supposed to update the bios as providers sometimes have custom BIOS...?

    I did windows update first thing.

    I just reinstalled another version of the lan driver from AMD's website hope that works.

  • A common thing others have issues too.

  • The version installed by the default via windows update is a POS (BSOD)
    I also installed another version of the lan driver from AMD's website> Lags and freeze even in KVM + network loss ofc.
    I just discovered (yeah sorry should have looked more before posting) that realtek has a specific installer for drivers on windows server 2025 (not the same one as win 11). The version installed using that installer has been working for the last 3 days without crashes, or BSODs.

    It is worth noting, I have contacted @Mevspace support a couple of times during the last couple of days and their response time improved A LOT compared to 2022! in 2022 I wrote here in this forum that their support is "no hetzner", now, their response speed seems to be on par with (maybe even better than) hetzner, all my tickets, or KVM requests are answered within 10-15 minutes, crazy!
