No, not because of piracy, because of their fear and hate for free speech and privacy under the fake guise of protecting the children or some persons feelings (UK). Maybe it was bad to mix the two examples. I was just listing an example of another western country hurting the Internet as we know it. Its just sad to see the Internet in the west becoming equal to or worse in some cases than more authoritarian regimes. Porn bans, age verification, disconnecting people over dmca/piracy, banning free speech, arresting people for memes, attacking cryptocurrency, snowden, wikileaks, VPN bans, attacking overall privacy, etc. The free open wild wild west days are nearly gone. RIP.
