Swedish host PRQ is in a legal battle with IIS (the registry for .se and .nu)

But do you like "anonymous" domains (proxy registrations)?
Not sure, I think there should be TLDs that allow it but I don't think every ccTLD has to allow it. If a country doesn't want to allow it for their ccTLD I think that's fine.
For .SE and .NU most information is inaccessible anyway to the public (unless the domain is registered to a company).
If you want to hide from the Swedish gov, using a .SE or a .NU is retarded anyway

Tbh I don't see proxy registrations as a bad practice and it's sad to see registry not liking it.
If abuse is a concern for them, in my experience increasing the service price (even as simple as just longer initial commitment) works surprisingly well to significantly lower misuse cases. So, they could've instead allow it as a paid feature instead to manage their risk appetite.
Price for .SE and .NU is already quite high, and blocking of domains often require costly court proceedings (very strong protections for domain holders AFAIK) so I can see them not wanting a $xx domain to cost hundred times that in court proceedings.
The question is whether or not PRQ, as an end user, is in violation of the terms and conditions of registration.

They violate the terms for .dk domains as well, so this might cause them some trouble at some point.
Punktum.dk (.dk) requires full registrant information. You can "proxy" the tech and billing contacts, but this doesn’t give you any anonymity. And since Punktum has a complaints system, you can probably get a .dk domain registered by PRQ handed over by filing a complaint at www.domaeneklager.dk/en.

Not sure, I’ve heard of them but I think they’re a very small company. Never used AFAIK.
I don’t have enough domains for small price differences to matter. If I know there’s a price increase upcoming I typically renew many years at once. Sometimes, if I feel like it, I check where renewal is cheapest, transfer there, renew for x amount of years, and transfer back. Transfering is typically free for .SE and .NU unless you use a sketchy registrar like One.com I believe charge for it even though it doesn’t renew.
Typically I just stick to Inleed.

njal.la is okay, just that and it's easy to tell if your domain is registered through them by entering your domain here: https://tucowsdomains.com/
It shows as RSP, or "Registration Service Provider."
Furthermore, if you use their DNS hosting, Spamhaus might list your domain in one of their blocklists because of the DNS provider you've chosen.
However, you are not required to use their DNS.
