In all seriousness, when I was younger and more idealistic, I used to write things like Micro$oft and think of them as the evil empire. I later got a job working for them (or rather, one of the companies they acquired), but I was very impressed with their corporate culture and business ethics in general. Certainly as a company, they're significantly better than another FAANG I worked for, which was probably the worst two years of my life and I'd say while externally they have had a wonderful public image, internally it was one of the most disfunctional companies I've ever worked for (this is the other FAANG, not Microsoft). In basically every aspect of company management, development practices and professional ethics, Microsoft were way ahead. I've worked for just over half a dozen companies in my life, but Microsoft was definitely among the best IMHO.
That said, I don't particularly like Windows. Even while working there, I continued to primarily use Ubuntu at home, and only started using Windows again when I bought a new laptop for which Dell did provide Linux drivers but they were too buggy for daily use so I just installed Windows and never had enough reason to switch away again as with PuTTY, cygwin or MSYS, and more recently WSL2 it's good enough.
Please define your definition of "dead". Many people are complaining, but not all. So dead may have some valences in understanding.

Yep big thank you, both to all the members that partook in the BF event, but especially the providers who were so generous with their times and sales.
I tend to gravitate towards the ‘mega threads’, and will be looking forward to being present as we roll into Xmas with whomever else will be involved.
I don't know how many customers they have, but if they lost their enthusiasm, you could buy them @host_c if you wish. Maybe they are willing to sell, but don't say it publicly to not scare potential customers; I don't know.
