    Guys, im in a dilemma.
What actually it is the best platform to monitor server? Open Source of course.
Nezha, Komari, Beszel, there is another?
Im not feeling platforms like hetrix tools, really want something lightweight. (please dont tell me Zabbix)

    uptimekuma https://uptimekuma.org/

I have seen people recommended this many time but I have to say uptimekuma UI needs a bit more work - it might looks "nice" at first glance but it is a bit bloated, tried to setup about 200 monitors for production and it just gets super slow.

This Black Friday was special for me. It is the first Black Friday event in which I managed to resist and not buy anything. This might sound sad, but I am happy with my ability to resist - I never knew I could do it.

Ya let me see whether I can finally achieve this in Christmas and New Year megathread

(This might or might not have been a reverse psychology trick)

Was the 1TB HDD or SSD or something

same question, last year's flash deal had a system ssd.

Yes, they did, but likely they try to modernise their systems. The storage deals did not behave quite great in my opinion. So I believe they work on it trying to improve. Unfortunately I had to cancel one of their storage servers this year, because I personally found it difficult to reinstall the operating system and stuff.

I do however appreciate them for coming on Black Friday again, and offering a deal on the precious page 700.

On the more perm services that have 8000 IOPS @ 4k over the HW Raid 10 the run as good as SSD, we ran tests with linux and windows, and they behaved extremely good, plus this way there is no more mess in adding the addon drive.

You can run any OS on the 1TB edition, with 2vCores and 4 GB ram you can push these to Windows or any Linux dostro.

Furthermore, it is much easier to have 1 larger drive then having 2 or more.

It is a more versatile product in my opinion, we shall see.

I don't think that will be fixed in a couple of weeks. I believe prices will increase, because Christmas is coming and many people will buy computers for their kids. Prices might drop next year, depending on the politicians and their imaginary conflicts.

A little benchmark from our special deal this BF, 16C16G160G160T for €20/yr:

I am moist just looking at this

Also asking for a friend or maybe @sh97 who seems to know everything - do you know any other providers that can push more than 1Gbps across US/EU to APAC?

I'd say it's less about the providers, and more about increasing the buffer window sizes and/or having multiple parallel connections or using a UDP based protocol. TCP is pretty crap in general with high bandwidth rates and long ping times as a single packet loss can cause all transmits to cause the buffer window to fill, so pausing transmission. Even worse, the exponential backoff can quickly knock you down to a fraction of your maximum bandwidth before it slowly builds up again.

  • Thanks for the thread, and being back for BF megathread, and tolerating all the shitposting @FAT32 . Hope to see you around for many more other megathreads.

And thanks to all the mods also. (that actually worked and didn't yap in the thread all the time)

And thanks to providers for all the deals, and tolerating our greed for cheaper prices with more resources. Hope you also stick around for more years so we can beg for more deadpool deals.

And thanks @emgh to bring out the love of art in me, by drawing dicks.

And all other usual rats and shit poster crew, I am glad I could be part of your shit posting.

And finally, thanks to @allthemtings for KS-LE-B giveaway and transferred me the server quickly.

Don't forget to DM @plumberg for joining VIP list for the next megathread.

Who would be interested in running the fair and square random selection for our Black Friday thread giveaway winners? In return, you’ll receive a dedicated server free for 2 months on us or $100 account credit?

There will be a total of 6 winners to select. Here’s the breakdown:

    First Place
    • 1 Winner: Enjoy a 32GB Dedicated Server of your choice, completely free for 6 months, on 1Gbps unmetered bandwidth.

    Second Place
    • 2 Winners: Get a 16GB EPYC VPS in any location you choose, free for 1 full year.

    Third Place
    • 3 Winners: Receive $20 in account credit (must be redeemed within 6 months to avoid expiration).

Why do I have a feeling @FAT32 already have scripts for those and all he needs to configure is number of winners and thread_id?! :D

Yes I have, waiting Jon so I can add all these to some public places so all providers can self service

Oh and @doobydoe I hope you come back next year, had fun shitposting with you, same goes for you @Jord

Also big thanks to @FAT32 for organizing and @JamDon2 for coding up the cockpetition

And thanks to everyone who made this thread as fun as it was even though understandably not too crazy deals

If I had fun with you but didn’t tag you above, that means I know you touch as little grass as me and that you’ll be back next year anyway <3

Thank you for your participation too!

Hope I see you next time :)

For sure. Planning to hang around for the Xmas, NY and Provider award marathon as an unofficial megathread participant

@FAT32 candidate for squad I think

I never got to ask, what even is the correct ritual for joining the squad?

Me and Jord just shoved ourselves into it

When you reach a point where you are still here day and night and it is no longer about the deals anymore, then you qualified for it.

@FAT32 An idea in case it helps, changing links/prices for suspected IPs.

So if someone scrape the thread from suspicious IP they would see incorrect pricing or incorrect order link. Just to make their life harder a bit.

I guess the problem is that any restrictions based on being logged on / from an IP that's been logged on before or similar, all that will happen is these bot sites will tell people to register an account just before the event starts. So, we'll just get flooded with new registrations on LET and cause the site more problems than just anonymous browsers.

Yes but, we manually approve registrations and one thing we can do is be extra strict during BF/CM.

What is the relation between FAT32 and default? 🤔 I mean according to M$:

I don't know about him, but I love and respect @FAT32 not for the old and popular partition which he represents, nor for his implication into structuring megathreads, but mostly for him as a person who tries to communicate, help and meet others in real life, not thinking about his greed or his profits. He has demonstrated he is human, with regrets and emotions, with ups and downs, and I honestly appreciate his honesty, openness and transparency to be known and understood.

I am honoured to be alongside his name in Windows operating system, even though I hate all modern version of bloated Windows, but that's another topic about profits and greed which I don't like in Microsoft.
