    Then I tried command

    telnet smtp.gmail.com 25

Which I tested on another VPS where port 25 was open and gives result

    telnet smtp.gmail.com 25

    Connected to smtp.gmail.com.

    Anyone can help here ?

Hi Dedirock thanks for the great deals! Got one 2G RAM and one 1.5T storage. But..... After purchasing the $6.59/yr Promo VPS Saver NY FAT32 2025 I saw in your thread the $6.75/yr Promo VPS Saver LA BF 2025 which has the same spec but with 30G SSD instead of 15. I'm wondering if it would be possible to pay the difference and upgrade to this plan from my current one...? Also my storage VPS has been down for like a few hrs now. I'm currently fine with this, but do you have an estimation of when it will be online? Thanks! My invoice numbers are #17620 and #17626

    Hello @cubicpill,

How are you man? First of all, thank you for both orders. Greatly appreciated. I checked on your storage VPS. Sorry for the delay on that one. It is live now from what I can see inside your dashboard. As for the upgrades, yeah, no problem man. Just put in a ticket for me, please. We'll get it handled. And I'm assuming you want double bandwidth and IPv6 for both? :) Let me know. Thank you for both of your orders and your support.

Thanks man! I've created a ticket and put the things there. Ticket number #UZH-953326. :)

    Hello @cubicpill,

Okay, awesome man. I checked your ticket out. Our guys are working on it now. Also, I went ahead and had both your servers upgraded with IPv6 and we doubled the bandwidth on both. Thank you so much for your orders and your support. Also, we will get that ticket handled. Thank you so much.

Thanks, maybe I am missing something as for VPS with order number Invoice #18461 i.e. my storage VPS I do not see any IPV6 and bandwidth is also same

Regarding port 25, I have two other VPS with you where "telnet smtp.gmail.com 25" works fine, If you want you can change ip address for my storage VPS and I can test it again to see if it works. Further I do not see any VNC icon also for storage VPS where I see this for other two VPS. This is quite useful feature to have in emergency.

  • Okay thank you very much for sharing that. So I did look at the server, it looks like it's up and running now. Please let me know if you're experiencing any other issues and again thank you very much for your patience with us. Also went ahead and doubled your bandwidth and added IPv6. Thanks so much man.

    @DediRock:
Yeah, it was up and running with no network for quite some time. I tried all sorts of reboots/reinstalls/power cycles, only to be hit with the service is locked message. Finally came back online, and you know what? It's even slower than the previous one! GB6 went from 452 to 389, and the disk transfer rate measures 2-3x worse, IOPS maybe 3-4x worse (YABS at the bottom).

I didn't see the IPv6 or traffic quota bump the other day, but I see that's present now, so that's nice.

Looking at my munin graphs, the disk is terrible. I'm seeing a mean latency of roughly 1 second (!), max of 52-ish seconds. I don't know what to say about that. Never seen the graphs scaled to seconds before--usually it's ms or us. Same story on disk utilization--it's peaking at >100%, and the iowait numbers are also scary--max of 97%, mean of 9%. And this is on an idle box--fresh debian install, just ntp and munin.

Looking through the syslog, I'm seeing stuff like:

vnstatd[2348]: Warning: Writing cached data to database took 76.2 seconds.

2025-12-03T09:50:35.364565+00:00 x kernel: INFO: task jbd2/vda2-8:385 blocked for more than 241 seconds.
    2025-12-03T09:50:35.364736+00:00 x kernel: Not tainted 6.12.57+deb13-amd64 #1 Debian 6.12.57-1
    2025-12-03T09:50:35.364746+00:00 x kernel: "echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message.
    2025-12-03T09:50:35.364748+00:00 x kernel: task:jbd2/vda2-8 state:D stack:0 pid:385 tgid:385 ppid:2 flags:0x00004000

Best guess? The disk subsystem is seriously unhealthy.

I'll let it idle for a few days and see if things improve (maybe there's a ton of yabs happening on the other guest VMs right now?), but I can't say I'm happy yet.

mate you're too late I already been commenting in this thread asking what the fuck that's about

apparently he's keeping my suggestion for a Dedirock branded bong in mind tho

    Hello @beanman109,

We have noted the suggestion, thank you :)

i would smoke all of my marijuana cones from this bong until i accidentally break it if you made it happen Danny

    Hello @sitss,

Hey man thank you so much for those orders. Definitely appreciate you putting those in and all of your support. Went ahead and doubled the bandwidth and added IPv6 on all of those servers. Have a great day man and thank you again.

thank you, btw how to activate rdns. I tried doing so from the portal - days ago, but still unassigned.
